WWW Wednesday #11 | June 20, 2018

WWW Wednesdays is a meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
Just answer three questions and share what you're reading.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

I haven't made a lot of time to read this past week but I am about halfway through The Boy & His Ribbon. It's a bit sad and a bit dark and it's probably the absolute wrong thing to be reading right now but, even so, I'm pretty hooked on the story.

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
Till Death was further proof that Jennifer L. Armentrout never lets me down. I was on-board for the mystery, I was on-board for the romance... this one was an entertaining page-turner that really hit the spot.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?

If my fragile heart is up to it, I might continue with The Ribbon Duet and read The Girl & Her Ren. More likely I'm going to need some rather mindless brain candy and I might go for super light and fluffy like Abbi Glines' Sea Breeze series. I've only read the first book so next up is Because of Low.

What are you currently reading?
I wanna know! :)

  1. I still need to read a Jennifer Armentrout novel and at this point I'm not even sure where to start! It's also been a long time since I've read an Abbi Glines book. I hope you enjoy it!

    1. Well the good thing is that she has plenty to chose from! :) YA contemporary, YA fantasy/paranormal, new adult contemporary, adult romance... whatever mood you’re in she’s got you covered. :) I have a total love/hate thing with Abbi Glines. Her male characters are often douchey caveman types and her dialogue can induce lots of eye-rolling but... sometimes I just can’t help myself. LOL

  3. I'm reading LITTLE DO WE KNOW (a YA novel that I'm feeling meh about so far) and listening to EROTIC STORIES FOR PUNJABI WIDOWS which is hilarious and heart felt at the same time!

  4. I've gotten behind on my Jennifer Armentrout reading. That one always catches my eye, too. I remember reading Because of Low a while ago. It was light, but not too light so maybe that one?

    1. I’ve been on an Armentrout kick lately and have read three by her in the last six weeks or so. Probably because she’s a longtime favorite and I know I can depend on her for a good read.

  6. I miss the Sea Breeze books. Low's book was really good. I remember liking it a lot, but it's the last book that stands out, because it was gratuitous and written just for the fans.

    1. I read the whole Rosemary Beach series and seriously loved it at the time. Then I finally read the first Sea Breeze book a few months back and I was like... meh. It just felt sooo cheesy and the Rosemary Beach books never felt that way to me. Maybe because the RB characters were generally older? I don’t know. But I’m definitely going to continue the series. :)

    1. I’m always slightly in awe of people who read multiple books at once. I swear, I can only focus on one at a time or I start blending the plots in my head. LOL

  9. I am literally reading 4 books at a time right now, which I think would be same to assume you've done the same (because book bloggers must be productive, right?) XD. Basically, it's Magnus Chase book #3, The Cruel Prince, and Restore Me.

    1. Actually I haven’t, Anne! I was just commenting to someone else that I’m always amazed at people who can read multiple books at once. I started crossing plots in my head and it gets confusing. LOL I have to focus on one at a time. Hope you’re enjoying The Cruel Prince! I listened on audio and really liked it!

  10. Currently trying to decide my next book to read - rereading an old favorite of mine in the downtime ;) Those are some interesting choices! I've never been able to read much of sad books...

    1. Till Death was a good one. So glad I finally picked it up. The Boy & His Ribbon... OMG, it is so sad and so angsty. I really need to be reading more upbeat stuff these days but I’m sticking with this one since I’m so close to finishing.

    1. Till Death was a winner for me. It was romance heavy (which is a bonus to me!) but the mystery part was also good (and a bit gruesome!).
