The Sunday Post #14

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

By the time this posts I'll be lounging poolside at my favorite resort, book in hand and fruity drink by my side. The Husband and I always try to plan a trip in conjunction with our wedding anniversary (May 1) and a week of R&R is my kind of getaway. This was my view exactly one year ago. Just replace the book with whatever I'll be reading on Sunday and you'll have my current view. :)

Because of this, Girl Plus Books will be on a brief hiatus for the coming week but I'll be excited about catching up with you all next weekend!

Tuesday, April 26: Tuesday was my stop on the blog tour for Welcome Home, Cowboy - the second book in a companion series by Annie Rains. The series is off to such a great start and I love the military aspect.

Wednesday, April 27: Top 5 Wednesday: Favorite Fictional Moms: Such a fun topic - and it was funny how almost everyone who commented was singing the praises of Molly Weasley.

Thursday, April 28: The #ShelfLove Challenge topic for April was all about libraries. I had fun sharing my love for my local library and talking about the gigantic main library downtown totally made me want to go back for a visit.

Friday, April 29: So much fun to share the results of the Books 'n Bloggers swap I took part in! I had a great time getting to know my partner and I consider it a total success.

Finished: Him by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy
Prepare for much gushing when I review this one.

Current: Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donovan
I'll be buddy reading this one with Sarah from Words With Sarah. Confession time: I got a slight early start. Sarah reads sooo much faster than I do so I figured the only way to keep up was to get a head start. Now you won't be finished while I'm on Chapter 7, Sarah! LOL

PHYSICAL COPIES:

I received my April Bookworm Box this week and it was one of the best ones ever (although nothing will ever, ever top the month I received my signed copy of The Bronze Horseman). There were *three* books in this month's box instead of the usual two and when I saw that one of them was Midnight Lily by Mia Sheridan I actually squealed and did a happy dance in the kitchen. (No video of this - sorry.) Also included were Honesty by Seth King and Winter People by Jennifer McMahon.

KINDLE:

Shameless - Lex Martin: Last week I picked up the Dearest Clementine trilogy and since seems to be something of a follow-on or companion novel I decided to grab it, too.

Reason to Breathe - Rebecca Donovan: I've only a physical copy for years but when I actually picked it up to start reading... whoa, that's some seriously small print. So I nabbed the Kindle version and my eyes thank me.

The Complete Submission series - CD Reiss: I saw the whole series on sale for 99 cents and couldn't pass it up. Has anyone read this series? Thoughts?

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
Fill me in... I'd love to hear!

    1. Thanks Eva - the R&R was wonderful while it lasted. Unfortunately I got home and promptly got sick. Ugh! Finally starting to feel better and trying to get caught up. I enjoyed Reason to Breathe even though it totally wasn't what I was expecting. I'm interested to see what the second book brings - especially after your comment!

I have Him and I really want to get the chance to read it soon. I just have so many ARCs I'm trying to get through. I'll be curious to see your review though - and hopefully you like the sequel, Us.

  7. Hope you have a fantastic vacation. So jealous. There is nothing that makes me happier than relaxing in a beautiful spot with a book and no real-life stuff that I have to do...

  10. Ahhh! Have fun on your trip and happy anniversary! I could use a vacation right about now! Life has been a mess lately, but I think I've finally got a good grip on things! This is the first time I've had a chance to log back into the social media world and I missed the blogging community so much! You are the first one I started catching up on blog posts for and I'm having a nice night in reading all your reviews and posts from the last two weeks!

    1. Thanks, love! Vacation was wonderful... plenty of R&R which was much needed. Then on my first day back I got sick and have been down ever since. Ugh! I feel like I've been out of the loop forever! So sorry to hear things have been rough on you lately. :( I hope whatever is/was going on has settled down or been resolved. And you are too, too sweet to get caught up my posts like that. I'll be doing the same at your blog very shortly. :) I've missed everyone!
