Yup, ladies, Brig Knightly--that's me--is still a lonely bachelor, stumbling through the streets of Port Snow, looking for the girl he's supposed to end up with.
That is until my brother, Rogan, presents me with the opportunity of a lifetime. The Summer of Love, a secret pen pal program in Port Snow is looking for applicants and I'm the perfect fit.
I couldn't sign up fast enough.
I found myself quickly falling in love with a pair of red lips at the bottom of a letter. Just like in the movies...
Life could not have been better, that was until I started hanging out with Ruth Barber. Starting a new business right next to my shop, I found myself gravitating toward her. Her smile, her humor . . . her tea sandwiches.
My attraction for Ruth came in full force, leaving me dazed, confused, and *ahem* excited.
As new feelings for two women come to a screeching halt, I have to figure out who to choose. But when I discover my pen pal is Ruth, it might be too late.
All I want in life is to experience that swoony feeling . . . but I think I might have just missed my chance.
I was made to woo, and damn it, I'm going to fucking woo. I'm going to woo this girl so hard.
I love how easygoing he is. Holding a conversation seems simple for him. Always the social butterfly. The guy everyone wants to be around because he puts a smile on your face. His humor is infectious and his teasing personality makes me feel like I belong... belong somewhere.
Thankfully, Ruth isn’t the only one that thinks she and Brig would be perfect together because when the Knightly clan gets involved… look out. I adored Brig and Ruth’s story and it cemented itself as one of my favorites from the series. I loved the friendship that developed between them and the way Brig declared Ruthie was his new best friend. But I could practically feel Ruth’s heartache when Brig seemed to friend-zone her again and again and not realize that he was falling in love. And Brig, bless his heart, he was a total romantic, but he was also an idiot. The ending of their story had my heart melting and the tears flowing. I wish this wasn’t the end of the series because I could keep reading about the Knightly family for a long time.
Brig sounds so cute - what a sweet premise for a story!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Brig was so adorable! :)
DeleteAwww, this sounds fun and wonderful. I love that his family plays matchmaker.
ReplyDeleteI just loved the whole Knightly family and how involved they were throughout the whole series. :)
DeleteBrig drove me absolutely NUTS during this book, but I still loved him. It was such a fun story. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Great review!
ReplyDeleteLOL Yeah, Brig was so clueless that I waned to smack him several times, but he finally came around (once his family spelled it all out for him! LOL).
DeleteOh, the friend-zone! Ouch! Glad he finally got a clue. I like the sound of the Knightly family. I must check this out. Wonderful review, Tanya!
ReplyDeleteIt was such a fun series, Rachel. Perfect for when you want something on the lighter side.
DeleteI've never read a book by Meghan Quinn and oh my gosh the name of Ruth's coffee shop is beyond adorable! It sounds like Brig should be thankful he has his family to help him at times lol! Fabulous review, I need to check out her books!

I just read my first by Meghan Quinn last year and I really enjoyed it. Some of her books look a little too silly (like slapstick comedy) for my taste, but this particular series was wonderful. :)
DeleteThis seems to be the perfect friends to lovers story Tanya!
ReplyDeleteIt was totally enjoyable, Sophie!
DeleteI love that a side character was able to be fleshed out enough to become your favorite in the series! It really speaks to the depth of the characters that reside in these stories.
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to see each character get their story.
DeleteGreat review! I sped through this book and really enjoyed myself but at the same time, I was really annoyed with how much of an idiot Brig actually was. Especially for someone who is such a romantic at heart. I felt really bad for Ruth at times and the angst was definitely real 😂 But I did love their story and this series was so good. I'll miss reading about the Knightly brothers and Port Snow!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, yes, Brig could be so bone-headed. And I definitely felt for Ruth. But it was great to see his family step in and set him straight. :)
DeleteThis sounds lovely! I love it when goofball characters get to show another side. I really need to read this series.
ReplyDeleteIt's a perfect series for when you want something a little lighter, Carole. :)
DeleteThis sounds like such a fun read. I love that you're having such consistently good luck with Quinn's books. :)
ReplyDeleteQuinn was such a great discovery last year! Perfect for when I want something on the lighter side.
