The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books,
and share what's coming up on your blog in the week ahead.
Work-wise, it was a hectic/stressful week as I continue to pull a project together. I was so glad for the weekend to arrive.
We had to attend a funeral on Friday (it was a member of my brother-in-law's family, no one I was close to) and it was strange to be around people. Due to COVID, it was a very small service, held outside, but even so we kept our distance and stayed masked. I didn't feel unsafe but at the same time I was also happy when it was over and we could leave.
It's been in the 80's all weekend so I'm guessing Florida has decided winter is over. Yes, the A/C is running in February.
This week's 80's music fix is Sometimes (1986) from Erasure. They were such a favorite of mine back in the day. Andy Bell's voice was gorgeous and their music was pure pop perfection.

WHAT I COMPLETED IN THE LAST WEEK
WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING
eRC FOR REVIEW:
I had a great surprise this week when Atria emailed me an ARC of That Summer. I love Weimer's brand of storytelling (Mrs. Everything was one of my favorite reads of 2019) and That Summer is one of my most highly anticipated releases this year.
You finally finished Love at First. I am eager to get your verdict. Erasure really were pop perfection. Great, catchy songs. I was at funeral Friday too. We did all three hours of the wake Thursday too (my brother-in-law has like no family). I have not been out that much in so long, I was exhausted.
ReplyDeleteErasure's music is always an instant mood-lifter for me. :) Love at First ended up being not quite what I had anticipated. (Curse those expectations! lol) So I liked it but didn't love it.
DeleteI love that quote!! Haha. I always have it the other way around, so I know the English word, but then not the Dutch word...
ReplyDeleteHave a great month! :)
One of these I'm going to try it out and see what happens. :)
DeleteOoh, what did you think of Love at First? I'm excited to try more by Kate Clayborn as I ended up loving Love Lettering! Hope you have a good (and less stressful) week ahead!
ReplyDeleteLove at First was good but not great for me... but I definitely seem to be in the minority. My other friends have all loved it!
DeleteWe are still in the coldish weather but I have a feeling the next few weeks is just going to be Spring like. I am looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I still don't really go out but I am hoping in the next few weeks we can get the vaccine, then I think I would feel more comfortable going out to different places.
Have a great week, Tanya! Happy Reading!
Same here. I will be a lot more comfortable once I can get vaccinated.
DeleteHugs for having to attending a funeral. And I can't believe how warm it is by you guys. I'm getting ready to go for a walk in a little bit and there's snow on the mountains and it's 22 degrees outside right now. It sounds cold but being a mile up, our sun is crazy intense so I just finished putting on sunscreen lol.
ReplyDeleteJen @ Star-Crossed Book Blog
22 degrees... ack! First, it's hardly ever been that cold here. Like, that is a truly rare occurrence. And that would be a low... not a high for the day. And no one would be going for a walk because the whole city would shut down. LOL
DeleteBahaha, I love that "totally random"! I need to try using that.
ReplyDeleteI'm so tempted! LOL
DeleteMrs. Everything was one of my favorite reads as well. I am gonna have to watch out for your review of Summer.
ReplyDeleteMy sister is reading Mrs. Everything right now and keeps texting me updates. :) It reminds me of how much I loved it.
DeleteI'm glad to hear that you guys have warmed up over there. For a while there it sounded like it was getting pretty cold for you guys. I would have been the crazy lady going around trying to rescue all the cold stunned iguanas. LoL
ReplyDeleteA falling iguana is my idea of a nightmare. LOL
DeleteErasure!! Loved them! It warmed up here in OH as well-not 80's but enough to melt the snow.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing our definitions of "warm" in February are pretty different. LOL
DeleteI know all about feeling like spring! We had a really warm week here but they say that by the end of next week we'll be below season's temperature again! And eys being surrounded by people, even outside and masked feel weird now! Have a good week tanya!
ReplyDeleteI think most of us will have an adjustment period when this is over and it's "safe" (I guess?) to be around people again.
DeleteFunerals are tough right now. Do you have them or not? My uncle died recently and my aunt had to wrestle with that. Ugh. And glad it's warm there. I could use some Florida 80's. :)
ReplyDeleteI never listened to Erasure much but I love their 80's sound!
Love AT First looks fun!
Yep, funerals are yet another thing that have changed due to COVID.
DeleteFunerals are definitely different right now. I played piano for my great aunt's funeral last month. It was strange to sing and play in public again, especially from behind a mask.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy how the virus has changed virtually every aspect of our lives... even funerals.
DeleteWhew, 80's would have me putting the AC on too!! It's been a bit warmer around me, but pretty rainy.

Yep, still running the AC today... and yet tomorrow will be 20 degrees cooler. Crazy weather!
DeleteYes we got to 75 and sunny but it's back to rain and cooler tomorrow. You read some good books this week that I want to read. For me I think going out and about will never be quite the same. I hope this weekend was relaxing and you have am easier week ahead.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I agree, Anne. It's hard to imagine a time when I will go about my business out in public without a thought. I think that's a long, long ways off.
DeleteI'm sorry that work has been hectic and stressful, Tanya. I hope you were able to find some time over the weekend. <3
ReplyDeleteThanks Nick. Saturday and Sunday were both really low-key and were perfect to help me de-stress.
DeleteI LOVE ERASURE! Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one, so it was fun to see Sometimes on here. I also love Always. I'm sorry your week was so hectic and stressful!
ReplyDeleteI know! They don't seem to get a lot of attention like other 80's acts. Too bad because they had some amazing music.
DeleteWe are having crazy weather here. We have had an 80 degree spread over the last couple weeks, so it was no surprise when we started getting tornado warnings in the area yesterday. I anticipate an ugly tornado season with our temperature changes. Not fun!! I'll be reading Love at First soon. Can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteYikes, that is crazy weather! I hope the tornado season isn't as bad as you anticipate.
DeleteThanks! I hope so, too!
DeleteWe had 60-70 degree weather most of last week, which was wonderful, but now we're back to cold and rainy today, not so wonderful. Thanks for sharing Erasure this week. I haven't heard them in ages but Chains of Love was one of my favorite songs back in the day. :)
ReplyDeleteErasure never seemed to get the attention that a lot of other artists did in the 80's. They had so many great songs... and I love all their Abba covers. :)
DeleteHaha, love that meme! Glad you're having good weather, I'm definitely glad spring will be here soon :) Hope you had a great and relaxing weekend despite the hectic week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsey. This week has definitely been less stressful than last week, thankfully.
DeleteI've actually been reading a bit more so that's been nice. The weather was GORGEOUS yesterday and that did a lot to boost my spirits.
ReplyDeleteHopefully work will calm down for you soon.
Karen @ For What It's Worth
Hooray for your gorgeous weather! And I say that as it's 55 degrees and raining here. LOL
DeleteWe had temps in the high 70s last week, but over the weekend we were back in the 60s. Although, today was 75 degrees. Southern California is up and down right now, but we have pretty nice weather in the winter. The summer is when I want to move or die, lol!
ReplyDeleteI got a copy of A Path to Sunshine too. I hope we both love it!
I really enjoy The Path to Sunshine Cove, Rachel. Nothing earth-shattering or memorable but it really suited my mood at the time and I enjoyed the characters and they story a lot. I hope you will, too!
DeleteThe funerals here tend to be incredibly small but they started doing processions so people can pay their respects as the hearse drives past. I’ve done it twice so far with another one next week. It’ll be strange to be around a big group of people again.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that's a lot of funerals. I'm sorry to hear that. :(
DeleteI guess that I have been very lucky that I have not needed to attend a funeral since all of this started. It would be a challenge. I can't believe that you have your AC on. So much for easing into warmer temps! I hope that you have had a great week!
ReplyDeleteYeah, had it been an indoor service or a larger group I would not have gone, but with the way it was done I felt I would be able to keep my distance and feel safe.
