The Sunday Post #249 | May 30, 2021

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books,
and share what's coming up on your blog in the week ahead.
Four days in the office this week and I was exhausted. I worked from home on Friday and was hoping for an easier day but... nope. Very busy. Which made me all the more thankful for the day to wrap up. We stayed in Friday night, my mom joined us for dinner (which she does every Friday), and we kept it simple with Chili's take-out. Then two rousing games of Parcheesi. It's how we roll. :)

Yesterday The Husband went to a car show (he received a Top 15 trophy) so I invited my mom to go with me to Hobby Lobby. We were in there for ages and I'm always amazed at the variety they have. I went for some planner supplies and also found some gorgeous place mats for the new dining room table. And my mom actually found a small air fryer. She'd been wanting one for a while but most seemed too large for just her. This one looked like the perfect size - and it was a pretty color so that was a bonus.

It's hot and I don't like it. That is all.

Our mini getaway is coming up in a week and I can't wait. I'm so ready for a change of scenery. It's been far too long.

This week's 80's music fix is What Have I Done to Deserve This (1987) by Pet Shop Boys. One of my favorites from them and the collaboration with Dusty Springfield showed that her voice was as amazing as ever. I absolutely love her voice in this one.

WHAT I COMPLETED IN THE LAST WEEK

READ:

Absolutely loved this latest installment in the Cake series. Review to come on Tuesday.

WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING

READING:

I'm not usually a fan of kids in romance books, but something about this one called to me and I'm so glad I heeded that call. Really enjoying this one a lot.

Not a thing.

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!

  2. A getaway is definitely something to look forward to.I am dreading going back to the office, but I know it's on the horizon. NJ loosened the mask mandate on Friday. It's odd seeing people's faces again. I have been to a Hobby Lobby once (though there is one right around the corner). I was overwhelmed by the size and all the stuff they had.

    1. I hardly see anyone wear masks down here anymore. It's crazy. When I wear one in a store I'm usually the only one!

  6. I love that you play Parcheesi. If we clear the dining table maybe we can play some games tomorrow. Right now it is busy with various projects. It was 90s this past week and I'm looking forward to 80s with a bit more rain this week. It's 65 today!
