The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books,
and share what's coming up on your blog in the week ahead.

We're mid-way through January and I'm still waiting for some actual winter weather. Like, something to even justify wearing a sweater instead of a tee shirt. It's in the mid-60's today... this is not what I had in mind. :)

I was on the Life360 app (checking to see if my mother made it home okay) when I noticed by my name it stated "Tanya has been at home since 1:30 on Wednesday." I forgot how working from home turns me into such a hermit. I need to take a walk or go for a drive today just to get the heck out of the house. Outdoors, fresh air... what a concept!

I mentioned a couple month ago that I had my 30 year work anniversary. I finally got around to ordering my gift and it arrived this week. It's a gorgeous pendant necklace but I've ordered a new chain since the current one is quite short.

This week's 80's music fix is Someday Someway (1982) by Marshall Crenshaw. One of my feel-good 80's favorites. Enjoy!

  1. We wear sweater here but no snow in sight yet! Also I don't know how you do that, stay indoor the whole day for days in a row! I honestly need to go out and walk every day else I drive my husband and kid totally crazy :-))) Have a great week Tanya!

  2. It was -1F with the windchill here today, if you are looking for some winter. It's going to be about 40F by the afternoon. So, silver lining there. I am glad I don't have that app. It would be embarrassing how little I leave my house. We returned to WRF on the Dec 30, and I didn't leave the house until Jan 8. Other than work, I only really go out one time a week. That's a beautiful gift for your 30th. *happy dance* Glad to see you enjoyed One Night on the Island. Oooh, you are reading Running Wild. I will eagerly await your thoughts.

    1. Okay, I could actually be happy with a 40 degree day. That sounds awesome. The -1 windchill... not so much. LOL I am so loving Running Wild, Sam! Marie + Tyler are *chef's kiss*

  4. Cool necklace! Congrats on 30 years. I know what you mean about not leaving the house. I used to walk the dog every day, but her arthritis has gotten too bad for that. I'm afraid she'll fall on the ice. Sometimes it's a struggle to remember when I last went outside.

    1. Right? I actually don't mind it but it is kind of disconcerting when I realize I've been indoors for so many days.

  5. Lovely necklace! You know I don't remember my childhood phone number, but I do remember my aunts. Probably because she had it for years, until she switch to just her cell. Hope you have a great week.

    1. Isn't it crazy the random stuff we remember from years ago. I have no idea why I retain half the stuff I do. Haha.

  6. wow 30 YEARS!!! That is so amazing. I hope you and your man had a wonderful celebration because it deserves it. I am so happy I don't work from home (I could if I wanted to) but I like having a office to go to every day and I am antisocial enough haha

    1. Well, not a lot of celebration for the work anniversary. Lol But it was fun to pick a gift from the catalog they provided. 😊

  7. We are living the hermit life but I do walk Lulu around the neighborhood. I remember my original 4 digit phone number. lol I remember the 10 digit one as my Mom had it until 3 years ago and lived in the same house where I graduated high school. Have a good week and at least get out in the yard. I love 60s weather. It's going to be 30-40s here this week.

  8. Its suppose to snow here today and I am excited!! And I still remember my childhood phone number but it was my parents number until a couple years ago when they finally gave up a land line.

  11. I can't wait for your review on Running Wild!

I feel the not leaving the house thing. I find there are entire weeks where I feel like I haven't left or been outside as much as I should. Although, it's been cold and rainy here.

  12. That meme is SO me. I know everyone's childhood phone number but not Kevin's new WA cell # lol

I don't go many places but I do go out every day (almost) even if it's just to walk the dogs or get a coffee. I'm fine not being around people but I get a little stir crazy if I don't leave the house at all.

  13. Come on over to my house - I will be happy to share a little winter with you! I am so sick of bundling up to take the dogs for their daily walks. We even had a little snow yesterday. Nice anniversary gift. My husband once worked for a company where he got to pick a gift out of a catalogue for all the milestones. We have a nice clock we got that way. I hope that you have a great week, Tanya!

    1. Sounds similar to what my company does, Carole. We’re recognized for every 5 year milestone. And get a catalog to choose a gift each time - with gifts increasing in value as your years increase. It’s a nice perk!

  14. We got another 4 or 5 inches of snow yesterday so I'd be more than happy to send some your way, lol. Congrats on your 30 year anniversary! That pendant is lovely.

  15. What is this Life360 app? And congrats on 30 years! You chose a beautiful gift.

    1. Life360 is an app that lets you see the real-time location of those you’ve added to your circle. We basically got it as an added safety measure for my mom. The app tells me when she leaves her house, when she returns. And I can check her location anytime. It comes in handy.

  16. Honestly, I would happily send you some cold weather. I am bundling up every day at home to keep warm. I now carry a hot water bottle with me in the house. I laughed seeing you hadn't left the house, I think that's one good thing of going to my mom's regularly it means I leave the house once a day otherwise I could go a whole week without going anywhere. I think this is why people get dogs. Congrats on 30 years, that necklace is beautiful. It's nice you can treat yourself to something for it.

    1. This is why people get dogs. LOL too funny. If I lived alone (and I wasn’t allergic) I would probably consider it just for the company. As it is, The Husband is my daily entertainment. 😄
