WWW Wednesday #111 | April 13, 2022

WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words
Just share your answers to three questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you'll read next?

Does anyone know what's up with Bloglovin'?
I haven't been able to access my feed for a week now. And because 95% of my blog visiting is done via Bloglovin'... I'm kind of dead in the water when it comes to keeping on top of everyone's posts. I subscribe to maybe 3 or 4 blogs via email but everything else is via Bloglovin'. All I've gotten for the last week is "Sorry this page isn't available." I've tried logging out, tried different browsers, and more. But I get the same thing no matter if I'm on my desktop or a tablet. I put in a ticket, but yeah... not holding out a lot of hope there.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

Once We Were Starlight - Mia Sheridan
Crowbones (The Others #8/The World of The Others #3) - Anne Bishop

Currently reading: Mia Sheridan never disappoints so it's no surprise I'm loving this one.
Current progress: page 110 of 354 (30%)

Currently listening: It's been a looong time between books in this addictive series. I'm barely into this one but I'm excited to be back in this world.
Current progress: 5%

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?

Baden - Sawyer Bennett ⭐⭐⭐⭐.25
Challenge - Amy Daws ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Recently read: Baden was my first by Sawyer Bennett and I really enjoyed it. I had a few quibbles with the male POV feeling too similar to the female POV, but the story itself really grabbed me.

Recently listened to: I listened to Challenge on audio and it was totally the way to go. The duet narration made it that much more enjoyable and immersive, and it was an all-around good time.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?

The Summer Place - Jennifer Weiner

  1. I follow a lot of blogs in Bloglovin. (I try to follow my friends in all the ways possible.) I don't really use it to blog hop though. I hope that they work out the problems soon. I really liked Crowbones and need to get back to Sawyer Bennett's books soon. I am reading an anthology called Heroic Hearts right now.

    1. Carole - Until lately Bloglovin has been the easiest way for me to follow and blog hop. But the lack of service this past week has me exploring other options. I'm loving Crowbones and being back in that world. Heroic Hearts sounds interesting. I'm going to look that one up.

  2. Yes, I'm having the same problem with Bloglovin!! I feel so bad that I'm not visiting lots of blogs right now, and it's so hard to remember all the ones I follow!

    1. Right? I've pieced together a list of who all I follow from memory and from seeing comments on other blogs. And I've started following everyone on Feedly. And wouldn't you know it, after a week, Bloglovin was suddenly working again this morning. I'm still continuing to follow at Feedly though. I no longer trust Bloglovin. :(

  3. Bloglovin is a blast from the past! I stopped using it a while ago but I've just logged and it let me in fine. Is it fixed for you now? I mostly use Feedly to track blogs now but I also really need to find more blogs to read as my list is getting smaller and smaller as people stop blogging or go on an extended hiatus.

    1. Becky - Well, after compiling a list and collecting links, and then searching for everyone on Feedly and following there... Bloglovin decided to start working again this morning. Gah! I think I'm still going to try and move over to Feedly.

  4. That really sucks about Bloglovin. I hope they fix your problem soon. At least you can spend that time reading intead. ;)

    1. LOL Right? No, instead I spent last evening searching for everyone on Feedly and trying to follow from there. Strangely, Bloglovin started working again this morning. No explanation, no nothing. So weird.

  5. I am so wanting to read Once We Were Starlight. Sheridan is a favorite of mine! And I need to finish reading the Others, too. I got an arc of The Summer Place, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Hope we both enjoy it!!

    1. Alison - I'm about halfway through Once We Were Starlight and loving it. But it's Mia Sheridan so it's also breaking my heart.

  7. That was your first Sawyer Bennett book? Wow! I love her hockey romances. Glad you enjoyed it. I never used bloglovin, but that's odd that it's not working. I have a few Sheridan books. I need to read them.

    1. Mia Sheridan is a real favorite but her ever book breaks my heart. On the flipside, the only 5 star read I've had this year is one by Sheridan so there's that. :)

  9. Bloglovin drives me nuts sometimes, but it really is one of the easiest ways for me to follow blogs and find new posts. I found you through Bloglovin today so hopefully it's working better again!

    1. Thanks Lauren! In a coincidental twist, it started working again the same day I posted this. But it was a solid week without it. Ugh. I really depend on it to follow everyone's latest posts!

I'm reading Witch Please right now and it's a lot of fun so far.

    1. Karen - So out of curiosity, how do you keep track of new blog posts from those you follow? Do you use another service? Just visit periodically? I'm curious how others get notified/follow.

      Witch Please sounds fun! :)

    1. Thanks Esther! Yes, it finally started working for me again after a week. No idea what the issue was but I heard from a few others that they experienced the same. I'm just happy it's working again.

    1. 99% of the time I'm a straight-up contemporary romance girl. Urban fantasy is definitely not my go-to. But I got so hooked on The Others series a couple years ago. I think I've reread the initial 5 books at least 2 or 3 times.

  13. When I got to Bloglovin' even now, all I get is this message,

    "We'll be back shortly
Our servers are over capacity and certain pages may be temporarily unavailable. We're incredibly sorry for the inconvenience."

I have no idea what's going on with it. I've been having trouble with it recently myself.

    1. Carrie - Bloglovin finally started working for me last Wednesday, after a week of nothing. But as of this morning - down again. I get the "servers over capacity" message. They are so annoying.

  14. That's so weird about Bloglovin'. I haven't used it in a while but just checked and it's down for me as well. I'm getting the same message that Carrie Sallie is getting about servers being over capacity.

That Anne Bishop series is one that always intrigues me but I haven't tried it yet. Hope all of these reads are winners for you.

    1. Suzanne - Bloglovin came back up for me last week... only to be down again today. Very annoying.

I love Bishop's The Others series. It's fantastic being back in the world she created.

  15. I've been kind of MIA because of our move, but I just noticed that there was something up with Bloglovin! I use my sidebar to keep up with other blog posts, so it won't impact me in the future, but that sucks for any followers on our blogs! I wonder what the issue is? Looking forward to your thoughts on Crowbones. I love the world of The Others!

    1. Rachel - Bloglovin came back for a few days but now it's down again. Now it just says the servers are over capacity, but it's said that for about 3 days now. So annoying.

I'm almost done with Crowbones and enjoying it so much. I love being back in that world.
