Valentine's Book Tag

I was searching for a fun tag to do for Valentine's and came across this one.
I'm not sure of the original creator but I found it here.

standalone book you love

If I wasn't currently suffering from the The Plague a cold, I would have already written a review for this new favorite. But alas, all my time is spent moaning so the review must wait. In the meantime, just know that Autoboyography is my new love.
Tanner + Sebastian

dystopian book you love

It's been a hot minute since I read anything remotely dystopian, but the
Shatter Me series remains a favorite.
And because Warner.

a book you love but no one else talks about

This books deserves so much love. The ratings on GoodReads are high (4.40) but there are only 67 ratings. Believe me when I tell you that Goodnight, Nic is an overlooked gem of a book.

favorite book couple

I'm totally cheating (take pity on me, I'm sick) and going with all three couples from my favorite contemporary series, the Addicted/Calloway Sisters series. Each couple - Lily and Loren, Rose and Connor, Daisy and Ryke - has qualities that I love and each relationship is unique.

a book other people love but you haven't read yet

It's gonna happen. Like, so soon.

a book with red on the cover

Everyone all together now... awww!
Simon + Blue

a book with pink on the cover

It pains me to this day how much I disliked this book.
I mean, that cover! That magnificent cover!
The book gods played a cruel trick with this one.
Pretty on the outside, pure schmaltz on the inside.

you're given a box of chocolates.
which fictional boyfriend gives them to you?

First of all, do I even need to answer this one? Do we all not know that my heart belongs to Daemon Black? If not, are you new here?? Secondly, any worthy book boyfriend would know that I don't even particularly like chocolate (yeah, yeah, it's true, now let's move along). But I wouldn't turn down a cookie from Daemon...

you're single on valentine's day.
what book would you read?
what tv show would you watch?
what movie would you watch?

First, I'm curious why I'm single. Where did my husband go? Is he trapped under something heavy? Is he away on a secret mission? I'm a bit concerned but for the sake of the tag...
Book: I'll reread Wait For You because Cam + Avery always give me all the feels.
TV: Meh. I don't watch TV and don't feel like thinking of an answer. I'm sick, remember? *cough cough*
Movie: Love Actually. Nevermind that it's set at Christmastime. Minor details. It's funny and swoony and makes me happy.

you're in a bookstore when you get shot by cupid's arrow. what new release will you love?

See what I did there? :) Plus, I just read a friend's review of this one and am utterly convinced that I must read it soon.

no matter how you spend the day, happy valentine's day!

  11. I also have so much love for Seb and Tanner, and #TeamWarner forever. Alex is such a fun book. I loved it so much. Funny you have a Tillie Cole book here and you didn't "appreciate" it that much. I read another of her books, because everyone was raving and I was not impressed. I thought it was just me. I hope you and the hubs have a lovely valentine's day.

    1. I've had others tell me not to judge Tillie Cole by that one book because it's not like her others, but I've yet to pick up anything else by her. And now hearing that you weren't thrilled, either... I'm even less inclined to try her again. Meh.

  15. This is so fun! Totally agree about Warner and Ignite Me! (I am almost scared of the new books, tbh.) And I MUST read Autoboyography and Simon ASAP. I have both, and now I need to get my act together. OH and Alex Approximately, that too! I just read my first Jenn Bennett and loved it so YEP.

    1. I know! I'm completely psyched for the new Shatter Me book but at the same time I feel like taking half a step back like, "I don't know.... " One day I shall show up on your doorstep (in a totally non-creepy way) with a copy of Simon in hand, insist you read it immediately, and hang around drooling over your books while you discover the magic of Simon. Either that or I'll just say something like, you really need to read Simon. (Wow, that one was so much easier.)

  16. Daemon Black can give me chocolate any day of the week! I devoured that series. Armentrout is my Author Jam, lol.

Simon I have and NEED TO READ. I also love all things Jenn Bennett so Alex, Approximately will be read in the near future--swear.

I'm adding Goodnight, Nic and Some Kind of Perfect right now! They both look wonderful! Autoboyography is also on my list. :)

I loved this post! (Also, thank you for the spreadsheet! I don't know if I have the patience to keep up with something like that. You rock!)

    1. Same here! Obsidian is the book that introduced me to JLA and remains one of my top faves. (And I'll be seeing her tomorrow... if this cold would just go away so I feel like going.)

Goodnight, Nic was wonderful. Some Kind of Perfect *is* perfect, but it's also the 10th in a series so it might not be the best to start with. :)

Ah, the spreadsheet... LOL I love keeping up with it. The Type A freak in me revels in it. Ha!

    3. Oh! Jealous! I met JLA once at BEA and she's so sweet--always smiling! Don't let the cold keep you away, lol.

I saw that SKoP was in a series when I added it, but I still want to try and get to it soon. Maybe if I don't sleep? 😵😂

  17. Ah Daemon Black... I loved that series so hard but haven't had a re-read in forever. So excited that JLA is returning to the world with Luc!
Thanks for highlighting Goodnight, Nic. This Nic is overjoyed that it's available in Kindle Unlimited and has added it to her reading pile. :)

I'll be adding Goodbye, Nic to my tbr. :) And I wasn't at all surprised to see the Calloway girls on your list...nor to see Daemon would be the one giving you chocolate. *sigh* That boy! :)

LOL I got such a laugh from your Daemon comment. That boy, indeed! :)

And Goodnight, Nic... what a pleasant surprise that one was! From unsolicited review request to be blown away by a truly emotional read. So much more than I expected!

  19. oh of course it always have to be that ONE or TWO books to ruin the perfect "we love all the same books" record we had! :S
All the strike-out format in Shatter Me drove me crazy and I couldn't pass the Daemon's jerk stage to get to when he gets to be nice :) BUT I still have that book on my TBR because I refuse to think I cannot like it LOL and of course now I'm reading Autoboygraph because of you :) so we still have a good record xoxo

    1. I can totally see that about Shatter Me. It’s either going to work for you or not at all. I see how it could get annoying or feel gimmicky. I just went with it and ended up enjoying the trilogy. With Daemon, yeah, yeah, he was a jerk to Katy for a while but there are Reasons. LOL He’s got a lot on his shoulders and he’s trying hard to protect his family. But I get it. :)
