WWW Wednesday #71 | January 8, 2020

WWW Wednesdays is a meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
Just answer three questions and share what you're reading.

Wow, it's been over a month since I did a WWW Wednesday post! That's because: 1) December was insanely busy and I posted less in general, 2) When I did post last month it was usually related to Sophie's #Blogmas2019 prompts, and 3) I wasn't reading much anyway so there wasn't much to share. LOL

But the holidays are over and I am loving getting back into my regular routines. I really am a creature of habit and I've learned that I am much happier and more settled with a routine. So the holidays - as fun as they can be - wreak havoc with that. Anyone else crave routines and schedules and order?

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

I've been reading super slowly, but I have been reading... so that's a switch. :) I'm almost done with The One For You. I made it to 94% last night before I had to call it a night so I'll finish it sometime today. I've loved getting Kinkaid's story and Ash is just amazing. I'll be sad to say goodbye to all these characters. It's been a great companion series.

I'm listening to Only Ever You on audio and enjoying it so much! I bought this on Audible last summer on a whim (I came across the synopsis somewhere and liked it and I had credits to spare) and then promptly forgot about it. It's the first I've read from Reiss and, while I think a lot of her work falls into the dark romance category, this one is just a great contemporary romance and I'm loving both the main characters. Plus, the female narrator is Andi Arndt and that's always a good thing. :)

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?

The only thing I've managed to finish lately is What He Never Knew (on audio). I listened to the previous two books (this one really can't be read as a stand alone) about a year ago when it was just a duet. Then, last February, Kandi came out with this third book... the story of the guy not chosen in the duet (so don't read the synopsis of this one if you plan to read the other books or you'll be seriously spoiled). The previous books were plenty angsty but this one felt even more so. The male main character was so broody and so emo I sometimes wanted to yell at him to snap out of it! LOL But even with all the angst, it was a really good story and both main characters went through a lot. And that epilogue was sooo satisfying. :)

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?

Next up is Echoes Between Us and I am so ready to dive into some Katie McGarry goodness!

What are you currently reading?
I wanna know! :)

    1. I would definitely recommend the What He Doesn't Know duet (well, trilogy now) by Kandi Steiner. Yes, it was angsty but it was so good!

  7. Lol reading your description of the male lead for What He Never Knew -- that guy does look pretty darn emo and broody on the cover 😂 I totally feel you about being a creature of habit. It feels good to finally get back to my routine after going through a funky period the last week and a half! And hey, slow reading is better than no reading, right? :) Happy reading, Tanya!

    1. LOL I can understand that, Sophie! They were great stories but apparently Kandi Steiner's trademark is Super Angst!

  11. You know, I loved that series by Kandi Steiner but really don't care for the guy book 3 is centered around. A part of me wants to finish out the series but another is like bleh lol!

    1. Well, if you weren't a fan of the guy not chosen in the duet, you probably wouldn't like the third book. At least half of it is from his POV. Maybe best to just leave it at a duet. :)

  12. I haven't read any of the books that you mentioned, but I've heard a lot of praise for Katie McGarry. I hope you enjoy it! I just started reading Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen McManus.

  15. I've been seeing Echoes Between Us a lot in the last hour while blog hopping, which is funny because right before that I discovered it on Goodreads. Such a beautiful cover! I haven't heard of the rest.

I'm currently listening to In Her Skin by Kim Savage as I'm trying to get through the books I have on Audible.
I'm physically reading Shock Point by April Henry.
With Finn we're listening to the first Goosebumps and physically reading Benjamin Nicholas and the Golden Key by S.C. Crovo.

  16. The Steiner duology/trilogy is on my list of books I want to read! I'm just not sure I'm ready for the angst! What if I'm cheering for the one who doesn't get picked?! I know he gets a book but what if I love him most and don't like the other dude?! All the anxiety and rage and I haven't read them! lol

Only Ever You has been another one on my wishlist since I took part in the release blitz last year. I haven't read anything by CD Reiss but I loved the synopsis so much! Plus, geek guys are hot. 😉
