The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:
- Things are mostly back to normal this week. Back to work, reading more. Still have no voice (a side effect from all the coughing, I guess?) and still feeling run down. I went to bed before 8 PM several nights this week. I now have the sleeping schedule of a 6 year old. LOL
- Epic Reads just shared their picks for YA books with awesome female protagonists. If you're looking for a new read with some kick-butt girl power, check out their list.
- On a totally different note, does anyone use an Instant Pot? I rarely cook since we eat out most nights, but I'm still mildly intrigued. If you use one, what are your thoughts?

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!
I use an slow cooker which I assume is like an Instant Pot? I.e. Throw the ingredients in before you leave for work and you have dinner ready for when you come home? I find it useful for stews, casseroles and pulled pork.
ReplyDeleteI have friends who use them for curry and chilli and even some who use it to 'roast' chickens etc. I can't speak for others but for the stuff I make in it, it works out really well.
Glad you're feeling better Tanya, the fatigue will pass soon, I'm sure.
Have a good week!
Thanks Nicola. The fatigue is getting better, thank goodness! It will feel so good to finally feel normal again!
DeleteI have a slow cooker that I use occasionally but I think the Instant Pot is more like a pressure cooker (I think?). The thought of a pressure cooker makes me a bit nervous but I know some people swear by the Instant Pot.
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon! I've had a rough week with stress and such. And yesterday our water heater decided to blow... so now we're dealing with a lot of water damage. Whoever built our building thought it would be a good idea to put the water heater upstairs, over the staircase... so when something goes wrong, we can't even get to it! We had to wait for maintenance to get here. What a mess! But I'm taking a few hours today to blog hop :) Which is always nice and relaxing! :) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Erica! Ugh, sorry to hear you had a such a rough week. Hopefully this week is off to a much better start. And the water damage isn’t too bad... I hope? (And what a crazy place to put the water heater!)
DeleteGIRL, I FEEL YOU. I have no voice as well, because of coughing. I'm taking antibiotics now, so hopefully my voice will be back in a day or two. :( Get well soon to you too, lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also got The Raging Ones! Super stoked because I LOVED KB Ritchie's NA books. <3 Happy reading!
Oh no! So sorry you are sick, too. :( Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in and you’ll feel better soon. Poor us! LOL
DeleteI just LOOOVE KBR so I’m super excited for The Raging Ones!
Oh Lake Silence looks like I would love it. I am riding out the storm that took out our power at a friends. So surreal looking at all the downed trees and power lines cut in half. They say we won't have power to our area till Wednesday!! Have a good Sunday!
ReplyDeleteMary #SundayRoundup #8
That’s terrible about the power outage! I hope they’re being conservative when they say no power until Wednesday! Lake Silence was very good. I’ve read the previous books in the series but this one could be read as a stand-alone.
DeleteYikes I hope you feel better soon! If it helps, I get up at 5 to get ready for work and am in bed by 9 most nights so I have the schedule my 12 year old self used to have at 32. I hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteLOL Your schedule sounds like my normal schedule, Melissa, :) I get up at 5:15 and go to bed at 9:00 pretty much 7 days a week. I am sooo not a night owl. Total morning person!
DeleteI hope you get your voice back soon! Winter is TOUGH. Meh!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It sure seems like everyone I know has been sick this winter!
DeleteGlad you're feeling better (mostly)! Hope this week is even better for you. I'll have to check out that Epic reads site- I've been over there a few times and it looks like they have fun content. I'll have to check that list out- maybe I'll find new books to read (as if I need more ha ha)!!
ReplyDeleteFeel better and have a good week!
Epic Reads always seems to have something interesting or funny that I enjoy.
DeleteHope your week is off to a good start!
Don’t know what an InstaPot is, but I use a Crockpot all the time. Happy Sunday Tanya, and have a great week. :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy using my crockpot now and then but I think the Instant Pot is more like a pressure cooker. I’m interested but always fear that I would do it wrong and it would explode. LOL
DeleteI do use an Instant Pot! I have one of the smaller 3 qt ones and I mostly cook grains in it but I've also made corned beef, soup, chicken breasts and a few other things in it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've used the slow cooker function as well so I was able to get rid of a few appliances and consolidate them into one.
Look up a few Pressure Cooker blogs and recipes first before you spend the money.
Karen @ For What It's Worth
That’s for the info, Karen! I like that it can be used for grains because I can’t make rice for the life of me. I swear, my Southern card is going to be revoked because I botch rice every time. LOL
DeleteUgh sorry you are still dealing with being sick! I have heard so many people talking about their instant pots. I'm intrigued, but wary. Curious to see what everyone here thinks!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new arcs!!!
Same here, Samantha. I have a fear that I’ll do something wrong and the Instant Pot will explode. LOL
DeleteGood. You're reading the new Christina Lauren, so you can let me know how it is. I really am itching to read some of my new adds, but I have a kabillion March books to read. Some day. Glad you are feeling better. Hope the coughing subsides and your voice comes back.
ReplyDeleteTotally enjoying the new Christina Lauren so far! I love dual time periods and Elliott in the “then” chapters is just making my heart happy. :)
DeleteI'm right there with you battling my post-flu symptoms. I hope you get to feeling better soon. I want to read the Anna Kendrick book (on audio), did you like it? Thanks for sharing that list, I will definitely check it out! Hope you have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteThankfully (I think?) mine was a sinus infection and not the flu. The flu is hitting hard this year and it takes forever to come back from so I feel for you. The Anna Kendrick book was a lot of fun and her reading it herself really made it. Nothing too deep was it was entertaining. :)
DeleteI have an Instant Pot, and it's great for a lot of things. I'll confess that I'm not the best cook, and I'm horrible at planning ahead, so sometimes the Instant Pot hits the spot. It does take a little while to get used to the process so it all goes perfectly, but once you have it down it works really well. We have a stash of recipes that we use pretty regularly.
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Thanks for the info, Nicole! I’m hearing from others that there can be a bit of a learning curve but once you have the basics it’s easy to use. I think I might start researching the different sizes and decide what’s best for us.
DeleteGlad things are mostly back to normal and hope you feel fully better this week. I love my instant pot. I make a couple of dishes and soups and need to try more. I am starting the new Christina Lauren book tomorrow and so excited. hope we both love it. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace. I’m definitely coming around and starting to get some stamina back. I’m totally enjoying the new Chtistina Lauren. Hope you are as well! :)
DeleteI was totally born with a reading list I'll never finish - love that quote. I DO NOT have an Instant Pot but it's something I really want so that I will hopefully start cooking more. haha My sister in law has one though and it works really well for her!

I’m not even fooling myself that I’ll cook more if I get an Instant Pot. LOL I know that’s not going to happen. And yet I still kind of want one... 😝
DeleteUgh! The lack of a voice is so frustrating! I spent almost the entire month of January without one so I can relate. All my colds hit my vocal chords though. :/ I'm glad you're feeling better even if your voice hasn't quite recovered. Thanks for sharing the Epic Reads article. I'm going to check it out. I'm almost finished with Written in Red. My reading was slowed since I spent last week in Texas with my grandma...she was having a biopsy. Fingers crossed the results are good.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Tanya!
Yes! Totally frustrating. Because the voice I have left makes me sound worse than I actually feel at this point. So everyone is like “Oh no, you’re still sick” and “You should probably go back to the doctor.” And while all are well-meaning, it gets tiresome explaining each time that it’s just the voice. Gah!
DeleteI hope your grandmas results are good, Brandee!
I really hope you get your voice back Tanya, the cold was cruel to you this year!
ReplyDeleteI don't have an instant pot but I really want one. Husband and I are trying to cut down on costs and no surprise, we spend a lot of money on food. Anything to make cooking easier, I'm down for.
Ugh, I know. I feel like I’ve been sick forever. But at least it wasn’t the flu! Silver lining! :)
DeleteI was just saying to someone else that I know good and well that getting the Instant Pot won’t entice me to cook more. It’s just me and the husband so we tend to eat out most nights but still... I just kinda want one. LOL
Did you enjoy Scrappy Little Nobody? I'm really interested to read that. I love Anna Kendrick :)
ReplyDeleteI loved that post from Epic Reads! It was amazing!
Hope we both enjoy The Raging Ones. I'm really excited to start it. Look forward to hearing what you think :)
Hope you're having a lovely week, Tanya!
Scrappy Little Nobody was fun - and I liked that Kendrick read it herself. I felt like I was hanging out with Becca from Pitch Perfect and she was telling me stories. LOL
DeleteDefinitely excited for The Raging Ones!
Sorry to hear you were still feeling run down. Hope you feel better now! I love the title of the Epics reads post! :)I got The Raging Ones ARC too! Hope we love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI *love* Krista & Becca's Addicted series (my fave contemporary series ever) so I have high hopes for The Raging Ones and seeing what they do with fantasy.
