But if I’m it, the last of
my kind, the last page of human history, like hell I’m going to let the story
end this way. I may be the last one, but I am the one still standing. I am the
one turning to face the faceless hunter in the woods on an abandoned highway. I
am the one not running but facing. Because if I am the last one, then I am
humanity. And if this is humanity’s last war, then I am the battlefield.
The
5th Wave, Rick Yancey
So I’m not about to
apologize for loving all these things about you, no matter the reasons or the
circumstances behind them. And no, I don’t need days, or weeks, or months to think about why I love you. It’s an easy answer for
me. I love you because of you.
because of
every
single
thing
about you.
Point
of Retreat, Colleen Hoover
Women are meant to be
loved, not to be understood.
(Note: This happens to be my favorite quote ever.)
Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime and Other Stories, Oscar
Wilde
You look so blindingly cute
right now, I feel like I need to make a pinhole in a piece of paper just to
look at you.
Fangirl, Rainbow Rowell
When the day shall come
that we do part, if my last words are not “I love you’, ye’ll ken it was
because I didna have time.
The
Fiery Cross, Diana Gabaldon
I would always rather be
happy than dignified.
Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte
I know what I think, but
people don’t want you to say what you think. They want you to say what they
think. And knowing what that is isn’t easy.
A List of Cages, Robin Roe
I haven’t had a very good
day. I think I might still be hung over and everyone’s dead and my root beer’s
gone.
The
Coldest Girl in Coldtown, Holly Black
From now on I will only
address people by nodding at them.
That’s stupid, why would
you do that?
Because it says that ‘I am
a badass and I recognize that you, too, are a badass.’
City
of Glass, Cassandra Clare
She “loved me” in
quotations.
She kissed me in bold.
I TRIED TO KEEP HER in all
caps.
She left with an ellipsis…
November 9, Colleen Hoover
You love me. Real or not
real?
I tell him, “Real.”
Mockingjay, Suzanne Collins
Piglet sidled up to Pooh
from behind.
“Pooh” he whispered.
“Yes, Piglet?”
“Nothing,” said Piglet,
taking Pooh’s paw. “I just wanted to be sure of you.”
The House at Pooh Corner, A.A. Milne
Have you read any of these books?
That Fangirl quote is so nerdy and adorable. I love it! Gosh! These are all really good. I need to keep better track of my quotes. I used to add them to GR, but I let it slide.
ReplyDeleteFangirl has so many cute/funny/adorable lines. And thank goodness for GoodReads keeping track of my favorite quotes. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to throw this post together at the last minute. LOL
DeleteI like the Jane Eyre quote-haven't read any of these.
ReplyDeletehttps://coffeeandcatsblog.wordpress.com/2018/03/02/friday-56-58/
Aww I love these! And having a Mockingjay quote is perfect, of course! The 5th Wave one is great too- I hadn't remembered that one, but I love it! Wonderful choices!
ReplyDeleteNow who would have though you would zone in on the Mockingjay quote? 😉 I actually never continued the series beyond The 5th Wave but that quote still stuck with me.
DeleteI've definitely read Jane Eyre, it's been awhile, but I do like that quote. I also like the one from November 9. :)
ReplyDeleteIt’s been so many years since I read Jane Eyre. I know I’ve forgotten a lot.
DeleteI love that quote from November 9. It always struck me as being so clever. :)
When the day shall come that we do part, if my last words are not “I love you’, ye’ll ken it was because I didna have time.
ReplyDeleteAaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, my heart breaks reading this.
Great list!
I know! That quote just kills me.
DeleteOmg, I love that Winnie the Pooh quote. Isn't it just adorable? I love a lot of quotes from Winnie the Pooh actually. Love the one from Oscar Wilde too - he has some wonderful quotes; many of which I just ADORE!

Same here, Lauren. There are so many quotes from Pooh that I just love. And Oscar Wilde, too! So many amazing quotes.
DeleteOh Pooh!!!
ReplyDeleteI've seen a few people quoting from Fangirl and they're all awesome.
Karen @ For What It's Worth
I just adore Pooh bear. 😊
DeleteAnd Fangirl is quite quotable. Not my favorite by Rainbow Rowell but still so cute.
Ooo I like that Oscar Wilde quote as well!
ReplyDeleteI came across that Oscar Wilde quote so many years ago and it has stuck with me all these years. I adore it. :)
DeleteOh I like this kind of rebellion. Some great quotes and I really like them all!
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa! :)
Deletehehe I think this is now my favorite quote as well "Women are meant to be loved, not to be understood." that is def a good one, I'll have to share it with my husband
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it too, Lily!
DeleteThese are great. I've read a few and those quotes resonated with me as well. Now, the List of Lies is a new to me and I like that one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these, Tanya!
Thanks Sophia!
DeleteA List of Cages was a heartbreaking read - but so good.
I love what you've chosen! I haven't read November 9, but I've seen that quote around. The one from Mockingjay--oh, my heart. I still need to read Fangirl, but the quote is adorable.
ReplyDeleteDo You Dog-ear?
That quote from Mockingjay kills me every time. Poor Peeta!
DeleteFangirl isn’t my favorite by Rowell but is still so cute. :)
haha hello #totalbadass! look at you being all rebel about this! so I'm gonna borrow one of the quotes here to say "I am a badass and I recognize that you, too, are a badass." :) YOU GO GIRL!
ReplyDeleteI loved The 5th Wave so much that has to be my favorite one! :)
LMAO I am positively howling that you answered me with one of the quotes. You rock! :)
DeletePooh has so many great quotes - sweet and funny and ofte quite profound.
ReplyDeleteAnd there were so many funny lines in The Coldest Girl in Coldtown. :)
These quotes make me want to read The 5th Wave and Fangirl again! When I think of quotable books, The 5th Wave is not one that immediately comes to mind, but you reminded me how powerful some of the lines are.
ReplyDeleteI have never read A List of Cages, but I might pick it up now.
Tessa @ Crazy for YA
What’s weird is that overall The 5th Wave did not make a huge impression on me and I never continued with the trilogy. But for some reason that one quote always stuck with me. *shrugs* A List of Cages absolutely broke my heart but was so, so good. I highly recommend it!
DeleteLove the Fangirl and November 9 quotes. I need to read A List of Cages still!
ReplyDeleteA List of Cages broke me down and made my cry but it was a fantastic book!
DeleteLove the OScar Wilde one! And Fangirl as well... the Mockingjay one made me smile to see. I love seeing stuff about the Hunger games since I just read the books recently... everything is fresh in my mind. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd of course... Pooh. the best. :)
I always loved Peeta and what he went through in Mockingjay was so hard to read. The whole real or not real thing always got to me.
DeleteAnd yes, Pooh is definitely the best. :)
LOL on the Clare. And we can be rebels together because I...only shared one! lol
ReplyDeleteLOL Whoa, you’re a bigger rebel than I am. We rock! *fist bumps Anna*
DeleteI know what I think, but people don’t want you to say what you think. They want you to say what they think. And knowing what that is isn’t easy.
ReplyDeleteA List of Cages, Robin Roe <3 <3 <3
I LOVE that book so much!!!
Yes!!! I feel like it didn't get a lot of attention but, mnan, was that one powerful read. I just wanted to hug Julian and make everything okay.
