WWW Wednesday #17 | August 1, 2018

WWW Wednesdays is a meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
Just answer three questions and share what you're reading.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
The Raging Ones - Krista & Becca Ritchie
Sci-fi is *not* my thing but Krista & Becca write one of my favorite contemporary series ever and that's enough to have me giving this one a try. I'm only 10% in but so far I'm enjoying learning about this frozen, futuristic world where everyone knows the day they will die.

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
I finished It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time (can there be a longer title?) a couple days ago and it was such a good time. There were scenes that were a bit emotional, but never angsty, and it was filled with Kylie Scott's signature humor. (Review to come on August 9 in conjunction with Kylie's blog tour.)

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?

Subject to change, as always, but I think next up might be Renee Carlino's latest, Blind Kiss. I also have Brigid Kemmerer's More Than We Can Tell (Letters to the Lost #2) checked out from the library so that's a possibility as well.

What are you currently reading?
I wanna know! :)

  1. I am always scared when a favorite author ventures into a new genre. It pains me if it fails for me, but I hope you like the Ritchie novel.

    1. I know, same here. Especially since sci-fi is not my cup of tea. I’ve seen plenty of rave reviews but I’ve seen several DNF’s, too. My fingers are crossed!

  4. I've only read one book by Renee Carlino but I want to check out more.
Also, I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, but I have ventured out more and found some goodies. :)

  5. I'm reading Finding Yvonne - an interesting coming of age story and then I'll probably swap to a romance.

    1. Finding Yvonne sounds like a good read. Interesting that it’s the mother that’s absent and not the father.

  7. I have to admit, I'm fairly jealous of your current read as well as the one you just finished. ;) I'm anxious to read The Raging Ones so I hope you're loving it. Of course, I need to finish the other books by the Ritchie sisters that I already have in my collection. ;)

I'm reading Relentless by Elizabeth Dyer. I don't know what I'll read immediately after finishing it but another romantic suspense since it's part of a challenge. ;) I also have an historical ARC to read so that's up soon as well as a PNR ARC. :D
I hope you're having a wonderful week, Tanya!

    1. I really hope I love KBR’s sci-fi as much as I love their contemporaries!

It’s been a while since I read a good PNR. I’ll be interested to see what you think of your ARC.

  9. More Than We Can Tell is so good. One of my favorite reads from this year so far. I'll be starting The Raging Ones soon so I'm glad to hear you're off to a good start with it.

It's a little slow-going with The Raging Ones, but I'm still enjoying it.

  11. Oh, I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the sci-fi book. I do love my fantasy and sci-fi a lot, but I can imagine it's not easy to adapt when an author completely changes genre. It's like my favourite band deciding to change their music, and I'm all: but, but, but, why?

    1. Right! That's pretty much how I feel, Olivia. Krista & Becca excel at contemporary so why throw out a sci-fi now? But apparently this is the book they've wanted to write for years so I'm going for it. :)

  12. The Raging Ones is on my list as well! I was planning on reading it soon, but I was hesitant. Sci-fi isn't usually my thing either, but I was willing to give this one a shot after reading the synopsis. It sounds a little like They Both Die at the End, but not... I'm really happy you're enjoying it so far!

Also, how did I not know about It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time?? I love Kylie Scott, so this is an automatic buy for me. Thanks for sharing this! <3

    1. I'm only at like 30% of The Raging Ones. I didn't read at all while I was out of town (Thu-Fri) and I'm also still trying to connect with the main characters. Court is still a closed-off mystery so I'm really wanting more from him.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time was a lot of fun! You definitely need it in your life. :)
