The Sunday Post #125

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

Yeah, yeah, I know... another Sunday Post on a Monday. I seem to be making a habit of this. What can I say? Weekends have been crazy busy lately. On Saturday The Husband and I left the house around noon and were out and about for the next 8 hours or so. What happened to kicking back on the weekends?! Apparently I've forgotten how. Saturday looked something like this: lunch at Chicken Salad Chick (yum), HomeGoods (I swear they should give me my own parking space), Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, another Bed Bath & Beyond (to pick up what the first one didn't have in stock), gas station, A.C. Moore, Office Depot, dinner, and then (finally!) home. I was tired, y'all! Sunday was filled with the usual chores (grocery shopping, laundry, etc.) and before I knew it the weekend was over. It's like *poof* and it's Monday morning. I feel like it's about time for a good stay-cation. I could use a little downtime. Anyone with me? :)

In happy news, after a crazy hot October (the temp has hovered at 90 degrees or just below every day this month) we finally have some fall(ish) weather! It was around 78 today and should be about the same for the rest of the week. And while 78 degrees may not sound like fall to many of you... it's downright balmy for Florida in October and I'll take it! :) What's it like where you are?

Top Ten Tuesday: The Longest Books I've Read

Wednesday, October 17

WHAT I FINISHED IN THE LAST WEEK:
Love, Actually + When Harry Met Sally + humor and heartache and missed opportunities = a totally great read. This one managed to make me laugh and make me tear up and that's the best kind of book.

WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING:
Friends, I am in JLA/Lux heaven. Y'all know I love me some Jennifer Armentrout. She's a favorite and very rarely disappoints. And if you've been around here a while you probably also know that her Lux series is my favorite paranormal series ever. So I'm just wallowing in all the JLA/Lux goodness. Daemon Black made a cameo appearance at about 20% in and I probably squealed like a little girl. Ha! I'm enjoying main character Evie and the only thing that would make this better is if it also included Luc's POV.

WHAT I'M CURRENTLY LISTENING TO:
Misbehaved - Charleigh Rose
I recently saw a Booktuber rave about this one and since the audio version was available on Hoopla I decided to give it a try. The narrator adds some odd mid-sentence pauses at times but otherwise I'm enjoying it so far.
KINDLE BOOKS:
I was excited to see this one drop to 99 cents last week since I didn't have it yet. And now I'm kind of wanting to binge the series. (Side note: I will say this is probably my least favorite cover of the series. Meh.)

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!

    1. You’d think I’d be used to it by now... I’m a lifelong Floridian! But every year I get tired of the heat earlier and earlier. Ha!

  3. I haven't done a Sunday Post in forever. I might do one this week- I"m just so lazy.

We've had some fall weather finally. I'm actually complaining about how cool it is. LOL.

Hope you have a great week!

  4. You finally got the weather I was hoping for when I was in FL. Oh well, that's why we are doing a Canadian cruise next year. I could never do that much shopping. I have low tolerance for that stuff. I do try to be at the stores right when they open, but I am not into the crowds. Books that make me laugh and cry are totally my jam too. Glad you liked One Day in December.

    1. Yep, just a couple weeks too late for you to enjoy. Womp womp.
An acquaintance was just telling me recently that she was going on a Canadian cruise. That’s so much more my style than the Caribbean cruises. I’ll have to check those out. I’m not a fan of crowds either (at all) but I also had so much that I wanted/needed to get done so... I kind of just pushed on when I should have stopped a lot earlier. I definitely need more books like One Day in December. :)

    1. I think it’s in the 70’s up here all this week. Granted, today is hovering right near 80, but I’ll take it! Much better than the 90’s!

  6. It is so chilly where I live, which is fine by me. I'll take the cold to the heat any day. We visited a lot of the same places last week. I think I went to TJ Maxx/Home Goods four times. LOL

    Thanks for sharing! :)

    1. I’m with you, I’d much rather have cold than hot! But unfortunately I’ living in the wrong place for that. LOL 4 times at TJ Maxx/HomeGoods? I think you’ve got me beat! LOL

  7. Your weather sounds like my weather! I currently live in Southern California and we've been in the 80's for the last couple of weeks which is a cool down for us. We're back up to the 90's end of this week *sigh*. Love HomeGoods! They definitely have my number! I'm shopping all the way to the cash register when they've even got the line decked out with goodies!

I should see if that Sarina Bowen is still 99c. Can't beat that! I never did finish the Lux series. Need to get to that someday. Happy reading, Tanya! :)

    1. Oh yeah, in SoCal you can relate to my lack of fall weather. :)
Ha! I do the same at HomeGoods! They've got me till the very end.
Hope you manage to snag that Sarina Bowen book while it's still on sale!

  8. Weekends are exhausting! Yes a staycation sounds wonderful.. no Royals, no drama, no chores though. Looks like you are having good luck with books. I have not gotten my romance grove on completely, I think I am reading one or two a month. The fantasy, thrillers and such are calling me. Have a great week!

    1. Weekends have been totally exhausting lately! I have plans to scale back *a lot* this weekend so my fingers are crossed that I can actually make that happen. I go through reading phases sometimes, too. Glad you’re enjoying the fantasies and thrillers while you take a little romance break!
