The Sunday Post #190

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

  • It was the first full week back at the office after the holidays and wow did it ever feel like the longest week ever. LOL Thankfully there's a three-day weekend right around the corner to help ease my pain. :)
  • The Husband just finished building us a table for behind the couch. It's purpose is mainly to hold all our devices and it's where they'll charge overnight. This will get them all off the dresser in the bedroom and everything will be within easy reach. He did an amazing job and as soon as the last coat of paint dries we'll move it into the house. It's so special to have something he created on his own.
  • Yesterday we got together with some of the family to celebrate my niece's 12th birthday. Her favorite place is Chick-Fil-A so that's where we all gathered for lunch. :) She is such a sweet girl and it was fun to meet some of her friends. Plus, Chick-Fil-A nuggets. LOL
  • Thanks for all the input last week to my computer question. I haven't started shopping around yet, but when I do I now know exactly what I'll need for better performance. It pays to have smart friends! :)
  • The January Of Books giveaway hop is still going strong so don't forget to enter if you haven't already.
  • This week's 80's music fix is from Glass Tiger (with Bryan Adams on background vocals). Enjoy!

WHAT I COMPLETED IN THE LAST WEEK:

What a great feeling to finally finish something. And not just one something, but two somethings! :) My first reads of the year - one eARC and one audio book - and I enjoyed both. Maybe, just maybe, the reading slump is starting to fade away. *fingers crossed*

WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING:

I only started Echoes Between Us a couple days ago and haven't got very far into it, but I'm already enjoying it. Katie McGarry is a longtime favorite and she never disappoints. I only have 30 minutes or so remaining in the audio book for Only Ever You and overall it's been a really good read.

Not a thing.

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!

  1. I had no idea Bryan Adams sang background on that song. *mind blown* Your niece is a kindred spirit. I love Chick-fil-a too (though, I am a strip or sandwich girl). I think the promise of the three day weekend is all that will keep me going this week. Can't wait to see your husband's masterpiece!

    1. I seriously love the original Chick-Fil-A sandwiches but I haven't had one since we started WW last year. Now I get grilled nuggets, or even regular nuggets, which are good... but nothing takes the place of that delicious sandwich. :)

  2. I'm giggling at the hobbies meme. That sums me up nicely. 😂

Chick-fil-a is one of those places that I hear about and read about but have never eaten in while stateside. It's on my list just of places to try so I have a point of reference when people talk about it! They did open a few over here (none were close to where I am) but they're closing as it had a massive campaign launched against it because of it's LGBTQ+ stance... It wouldn't have been the same anyway... KFC, Taco Bell etc are very different here. Only McD and Burger King and Subway are pretty much identical (except for meal sizes).

Fingers crossed that you're now pulling out of your reading slump and I'm glad that the computer info was helpful! 😀

    1. Chick-Fil-A has an almost rabid following. LOL I mean, people seriously love some Chick-Fil-A. And the food is good. I basically boycotted them for several years since I fundamentally disagree with their founder's views, but he's been dead for years and I don't know if they even still hold those same views or not.

Interesting that some fast food is different in different countries. I remember seeing KFC when we were in England several years ago but we ever ate there. We did eat at a McDonald's once in Germany and it seems like it was very similar to here.

  3. Those are definitely all of my hobbies, too - I love that meme! And I love this song - I always kind of thought that was Bryan Adams in the background, so thank you for confirming that!

  5. Oh hey, those are some of my hobbies too! LOL And that's so cool your husband made a table. You'll have to share a photo when it's all finished!

Yay for getting some books finished - I hope the slump is over.

  8. I just may have to steal your charging table idea! We have no organization when it comes to all our electronic devices and that sounds like the perfect solution. However, I'm not sure I can talk my husband into making one. Ha!
Glad you are escaping your book funk. ♥

    1. I think this is the third location for all our devices since we moved into this house last year. First it was the office, then the dresser in the bedroom... hopefully this table is the final destination. LOL

    1. I was so impressed with him building the table! He's super handy and industrious but even I was surprised when he saw a picture of one he liked and them promptly made it. :)

  10. Lol now I kinda miss Chick-fil-a's nuggets since we don't have them here. Those were what I ordered the times when I visited California + the strips. And yay to your husband building a table!! Good for you to build one to your liking instead of buying though.
