Top Ten Tuesday: Places I Love to Read About

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic:
Places I Love to Read About

This week's topic is actually Places I Love to Read but I just couldn't see how to turn that into an actual post. I mean, I like to read wherever I can. *shrugs* See what I mean? Not exactly a thrilling post. I like to read at home. I like to read in the car if I arrive somewhere early. Beyond that... ??

So I decided to throw the word "About" at the end of the prompt and share some of my favorite settings.
And for you math whizzes out there, yeah, I know there are only nine. :)

Setting: Small town

Setting: A Remote Cabin
Example: Tied

Setting: Bookstores or Libraries

Setting: England, Ireland, or Scotland
Example: The Awakening

Setting: The South (U.S.)

Setting: Places I Have Been

Setting: Someplace with a White Christmas

Setting: Russia
Example: Winter Garden

Setting: A Large, Rambling Mansion (bonus points if there's anything spooky about it)

Have you read any of these books?
What are some of your favorite places to read about?

  1. I'll admit that I haven't read many holiday themed books, but I feel like this is the year I'm going to go crazy on them lol. I've really been craving that Christmas feeling!

  2. I've been reading a lot of small town romances lately, and I love them! It's fun when all the characters are so close and everyone knows everyone else's business.

    1. I think what I enjoy about them is the slower, less-hectic way of life.

  3. Oddly enough, I hated living in a small town as a teen, but I love them now and also love reading about them. It's fun reading about places you have been too. I do enjoy discovering new places, but when it's somewhere I have some familiarity with, it's even more fun

    1. Years ago I used to read books set in big cities almost exclusively (usually London or NYC). Funny how now I've done a complete turn-around.

  4. A great! I understand your feeling about your favorite places to read. Mine are pretty basic. So I twisted the topic a bit as well.

When you get the chance, I hope you stop by my post: https://readbakecreate.com/10-books-with-travel-locations-in-their-title/

  14. I'm not a *place* reader. A particular setting won't make me read a book. Weird, I know lol And as to the original question - I sit on the couch. Very exciting lol

But I love your twist on the topic.

    1. I don't think I've ever chosen a book based solely on its setting (that would be weird LOL) but there are settings that I tend to enjoy more than others. For whatever reason they catch my interest more.
