Top Ten Tuesday Grammar Edition: Books with Adjectives in the Title

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic:
Books with Adjectives in the Title

I had planned on skipping TTT this week. Just no time to create a post.
But when I saw the prompt it was like, how easy can you get?
I can't say a lot of thought went into this one, but it was fun
browsing my Goodreads shelf for options. 😀

The Reckless Oath We Made - Bryn Greenwood
Tattered Stars - Catherine Cowles
Invisible Girl - Lisa Jewell
Fortunate Son - Jay Crownover
The Wicked King - Holly Black
Big Summer - Jennifer Weiner
Rogue Wave - J. Bengtsson
Great and Precious Things - Rebecca Yarros

Have you read any of these books?

  1. I thought this would be an easy topic, but then when I was going through my read-shelf, those titles with adjectives was not very abundant. Fortunate Son was one I read, and now that I read it, ot sure how I feel about the title.

    1. Sam: I felt like Fortunate Son (the title) fit the story pretty well. Considering that Ry seemingly had it all going for him - well liked, a leader, handsome, a gifted football player - and yet he still struggled with finding his own place and his own voice.

  6. Yay for an easy prompt! I did skip this one, though. I was overthinking it, questioning if I REALLY knew what an adjective was...LOL.

    Happy TTT!

  10. I just about also almost skipped TTT this week, but same as you - how easy can you get. And then I just had some fun with it.

    Great list slammed together though!

Happy TTT and here's my Ten Books to better describe your Wardrobe

    1. Suzanne: I adored The Reckless Oath We Made. Gentry is one of my all-time favorite fictional characters. And I love that Greenwood is not afraid to write very flawed characters.

  14. I loved The Wicked King and really enjoyed A Wicked and Beautiful Garden too! I still need to read Great and Precious Things, I've read a few of her books and have adored each one so far!

  15. It would have been an easy topic for me if I wouldn't have second-guessed all my adjectives. Haha! Great choices! I enjoyed Invisible Girl and Big Summer. :)

  17. Loved The Reckless Oath We Made! Even my husband liked it! I bought All the Ugly and Wonderful Things, both audio and e-copy, just need to set aside the time to listen to it. Jay Crownover is another favorite. I just signed up for a blog tour for Catherine Cowles. I saw a review (maybe here?) praising a story and so I couldn't pass the opportunity up! This is a fun TTT. I haven't had the headspace or time to work up much besides reviews I need to do! We are in escrow now, but it's been a lot of work and stress! Now I need to start packing! Ack!

    1. I know All the Ugly and Wonderful Things is divisive, but it was such a powerful story. Reading Greenwood's comments about it and the message she was trying to impart gave me such an appreciation for it. I just read my first by Catherine Cowles this year and loved it. I was supposed review the second book this week but there was a glitch with the arc and I never received it. No worries because I'll be buying my own copy! :)
