Top Ten Tuesday: Please Sir, I Want Some More | Completed Series I Wish Had More Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This Week's Top Ten Tuesday Topic:
Completed Book Series That I Wish Had More Books

When I latch on to a series I love, I'm all in. When the first book grabs me, I'm
off and running and I become completely immersed - in the characters, in the
setting, in the story. And when it ends... well, I take it hard. And I always want
more. So here are ten series that (sadly) are complete, but still have me
wanting more.

COMPLETED BOOKS SERIES
THAT I WISH HAD MORE BOOKS

All of the main characters got their own book, but that doesn't stop me
from wanting more.

All three books were excellent and Long Shot remains an all-time favorite.
I could handle more in this series.

Whether it's the original series, The Dark Elements, or this series, I love the world
that JLA created. And some of the characters have stayed with me for years.

It seems this series got shelved when Carmack started experiencing health issues
several years ago, but I'd love to see this series continue.

Yes, the series has been complete for eight years now. And yes there is a spin-off
series. But I will forever want more of Daemon and Katy.

The King series included some of the most messed up, wrong-side-of-the-law
characters I've ever encountered. And I still want more.

Possibly my favorite contemporary series ever. Yes, there is a second-generation
spin-off series, but the original 10 books that comprise the Addicted/Calloway
Sister series contain the characters that will always have my heart.

I still bemoan the fact that we only got two books in this series from Sarina Bowen
and Elle Kennedy.

I no longer read YA, but I would make an exception if Katie McGarry returned to
the Thunder Road series. Three books was not enough.

I love everything about The Others series. The unique world, the overarching
storyline, the memorable characters. Bishop did expand the world in subsequent
books (The World of The Others series), but I long for a return
to the original cast of characters.

Have you read any of these books?

  1. oh man there are so many series I wish had more books. I adored that Cora Cormack and it saddens me the author stopped writing. That series was amazing, we need more NA like those. I need to get back to the Tin Gypsy series.

    1. Renee - Yeah, I know Cora has written a couple of fantasy titles since then but I still miss the Rusk U series. The Tin Gypsy series was so, so good. I inhaled those. :)

  4. Oh, man. I should have done some of these. We both had the WAGS series. I should have put Carmak's series. I know we're supposed to get that last book, but it feels like we never will. I don't actually think I could handle more HOOPS novels because they were so intense and emotional! I wasn't sure if the King series was done or not, but it sounds like it might be? Thunder Road is one I'm really mad we didn't get that 4th book. And I'm going to disagree about the Addicted/Calloway series only because I have read all but the latest release of the second gen series. I feel like they need to step away from that family and come up with some new stuff. But maybe I wouldn't mind if it was the original couples... I don't know. Great choices!

    1. Deanna - I will be forever sad about the WAGS series. And the Carmack series... I'd like to hope but it's been 7 years since the last book. :( Yeah, I know what you mean about the Hoops books but what can I say? I'm a glutton for punishment. lol With the Addicted series, I haven't tackled the second gen series yet (such a commitment) but a return to the original group? I'd be all over that!

  6. I haven't read any of the series you've mentioned but I do have Hoops on my TBR and my curiosity about the Addicted series grows with each mention I see of it and lately I've been seeing quite a bit of it! Great list :)

    1. Dini - I've been so surprised at the resurgence of the Addicted series. I think the first book released 8-10 years ago but all of a sudden it's everywhere!

  7. Agree! I love to read series, but I'm not actually very good at finishing them. When I do complete them, it's hard to say goodbye.

    Happy TTT!

  9. Oh yes! The Lux series!!!!! Give me more Daemon!

  10. I feel the same way, Tanya, even if I tend to fall behind in series. I'm going to use the excuse - because it's somewhat true - that I know it's going to end and I don't want it to so I put off finishing. :) YES to the Lux series, WAGS series, King series....you know what, it's easier to say which series I haven't read on your list and that would be the Hoops series. But it's close to the top of the queue since I just got the signed series from KRyan at Book Bonanza. :D

    1. Brandee - I totally get it! I'll put it off because I don't want it to end. I actually do the same with books I am certain I will love (whether it's a series or not). I keep putting off reading them in order to prolong the anticipation. Because once I've read it, it's over. Warped, but true. lol Can't wait to see what you think of the Hoops series!

Here's my Top Ten Tuesday list!

  12. Tanya, I love that we are so in sync with our pop culture references. I wish I still live in Jax so we could hang out. OMG! I short listed the WAGs books, but then saw I trended YA and took it out. They set up the next book in book two. I am shocked me never that next book. And Rusk U was supposed to have more books. I thought Thunder Road had room to grow as well. I ended up loving that series.

    1. Sam - I wish you were still in Jax, too! How awesome would that be? :) I was truly sad to see the Thunder Road series come to an end. I really loved that one, and I , too, thought there were more stories to tell. I wish McGarry had another contemporary coming out but I think she's still focused on the fantasy trilogy.

    1. Suzanne - The Others was really my first foray into urban fantasy/paranormal romance and the series quickly became a favorite.

  15. I'm the same way when a great series comes to an end.

  16. I would also like more books on the original characters in The Others. I miss Simon, Meg, and the gang! Plus, we only got a little bit of their romance by the end. I need more!

    Replies
    1. Rachel - Right! As the series ended, there wasn't just the barest hint that Simon and Meg could become something more. So cruel to leave us hanging like that! :)

  17. I haven't read any of these... yet! But several are on my tbr. It's hard to let go of those series that really grab us, right?!

    1. Dedra - Absolutely. Once I'm invested in a series I don't want to let it go. :)

  18. We LITERALLY have the same taste because yes!! Omg Rusk University!!! YES!! Calloway Sisters series, the Thunder Road series!! I need to read Long Shot and I need to continue Devney's books. I love all of her other books that I've read, but I never continued that one, so I need to.

    1. Lindsey - At least it won't take you long to get through the WAGs series series since they only wrote two books! :)

  20. I've read the original Others series. I also read Long Shot. I don't think I'm even reading any series right now.
