This Week's Top Ten Tuesday Topic:
Favorite Books of 2023
Since I just posted my yearly wrap-up on Saturday, it was easy to pull this list together
today. :) While my reading in November and December took a hit (I read much less at
the end of the year), overall it was a great year of reading with some real stand-outs.
Fourth Wing - Rebecca Yarros
Lotus - Jennifer Hartmann
Pucking Around - Emily Rath
All the Little Raindrops - Mia Sheridan
The Stars Are on Our Side - Jennifer Hartmann
Grace Note - J. Bengtsson
The Lovely Return - Carian Cole
None of This is True - Lisa Jewell
Still Beating - Jennifer Hartmann
What was your favorite book of the year?
I really liked Pucking Around, too. I'm hoping to get to a T.J. Klune book this year. I hear great things.
ReplyDeleteCheri - Pucking Around really surpassed my expectations! I'm excited to continue the series.
DeleteFourth Wing has been on like half of the. TTT posts I’ve visited so far this week. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it. :)
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
Lydia
Thanks Lydia. Fourth Wing was definitely a hit this year!
DeleteFourth Wing also made it to my list! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteHere is my TTT post
Sofia - 2023 was definitely the year for Fourth Wing! :)
DeleteFourth Wing was epic. I still need to read Grace Note. I loved seeing your favorites of this year. I hope 2024 is just as good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deanna. It really was a good reading year. And I'm starting 2024 with a Kristin Hannah arc so I'm starting with a bang! :)
DeleteI still have to read Wolfsong, but Fourth Wing made it to my list as well.

Laurie - I hope you'll love Wolfsong if/when you get to it!
DeleteI've heard such great things about the Rebecca Yarros series. I'm glad to see it on your favorites list. I hope you have a great 2024! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeletePS. What app or website do you use to make your book cover collages? The one I used to use doesn't exist anymore and I'm struggling to find on that doesn't cut off the covers. Thanks in advance.
Jenni - I'm not really a fantasy reader, but Fourth Wing was pretty awesome!
DeleteI use Canva for the book collages. I use the free version (although there is a premium/pay version) and it's fairly easy to use. :)
As you know I loved Fourth Wing too. I don't think I could read Still Beating. It sounds too intense for me, but I am curious. Great list, Tanya!
ReplyDeleteRachel - As much as I loved Still Beating, I will say that it's not for the faint of heart. It was dark and was hard to read at times.
DeleteI haven't read any of these, but there are several that I really want to. :D
ReplyDeleteLark - I hope you'll enjoy them when you get to them. :)
DeleteI was reading every Lisa Jewell book that came out for a couple of years but I'm behind now. Thanks for reminding me to get back into her books!
ReplyDeleteGreg - I hope you find time to get back into the Lisa Jewell books. I know you enjoyed them in the past.
DeleteAlas, I have read none of these. You have a interesting mix up there though. Here's to finding a slew of amazing books in 2024
ReplyDeleteSam - Hoping we both have a year filled with amazing reads!
DeleteI really need to read Wolfsong; I've really liked TJ Klune's work before. Fourth Wing, too; people are so enthusiastic about it, I'm getting really curious!
ReplyDeleteNicky - For whatever reason, Klune's other works have never called to me, but Wolfsong had been on my TBR for several years. I'm so glad I finally read it. It was wonderful!
DeleteHappy new year, Tanya! I picked up Wolfsong after reading your review of it last year. It and The Fourth Wing are on my list too. Pucking Around looks interesting and it's available on KU. I might just give it a shot!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year, Leigha! I'm so glad you loved Wolfsong, too! I'm excited to continue the series this year. I hope you'll enjoy Pucking Around... I would just advise checking the author's content warnings first. :)
DeleteNONE OF THIS IS TRUE has been on a bunch of lists this week. I really need to check it out. I bought a copy of FOURTH WING because of FOMO, but I'm still not sure it's going to be my kind of thing. We'll see, I guess. Glad you enjoyed it and all these others.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Susan - I was unsure about Fourth Wing, too. I'm not a fantasy reader. But I am a fan of Rebecca Yarros and I knew I loved her story telling so I gave it a try. I'm so glad I did! Her brand of fantasy felt totally accessible for a non-fantasy reader like me and I was so invested. Hope you'll enjoy it if you decide to try it!
DeleteFourth Wing was probably one of the most popular titles and seemed to make it onto everyone's lists of top 2023 reads! I *loved* Wolfsong as well and need to finish that series. I hope your year of reading in 2024 will be amazing, Tanya! 😍
ReplyDeleteDini - They weren't too many lists that didn't include Fourth Wing, were there? lol Here's hoping we both get to the rest of the Wolfsong series sooner rather than later!
DeleteI haven't read any of these, but I do see some big names that I should probably try in 2024! Happy reading, Tanya!
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela! Hope we both have a great reading year!
DeleteThe Fourth Wing seems to be on everyone best list. Gotta get my hands on it soon.
ReplyDeleteHena - Fourth Wing definitely seemed to be *the* book of 2023!
DeleteWhat a great looking list you have here. Fourth Wing was my favorite read of last year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Tanya.
Thanks Maureen! Fourth Wing was definitely a big one in 2023! Now I need to pick up Iron Flame!
DeleteThese are all new-to-me, but I'd be especially interested in finding out more about Wolfsong.
ReplyDeleteDeb - Wolfsong was a unique story and one that I really loved.
DeleteGlad the latest by Lisa Jewell was one of your favorites. I didn't get to read it in 2023, but it's on my winter TBR :)
ReplyDeleteLucy - I hope you will love the Lisa Jewell book as much as I did!
DeleteSomeday I'll read a TJ Klune book. I hope you have a great reading year in 2024!
ReplyDeleteAj - Most of Klune's other books do not call to me, but I'm all over the Wolfsong series! :)
DeleteI just got the audio for the Lisa Jewell book and I cannot wait to listen to it! I also loved Fourth Wing. So many of these look fantastic. Great list!
ReplyDeleteKatherine - I can't wait to hear what you think of the Lisa Jewell book. Audio is absolutely the way to go with that one! :)
DeleteFourth Wing and None of This is True made my list of favorites too. :)
ReplyDeleteSuzanne - Those were both real stand-outs of the year!
DeleteNone of this Is True is on my list as well as Fourth Wing. And I am so happy tha you loved Wolfsong!
ReplyDeleteEveryone seems to have loved Fourth Wing in 2023 and I'm still waiting to get to it. Hyped books always have me hesitant in case the hype is stronger than the book. I think 2024 will be the year I give in and read. I have Wolfsong on my TBR. I've enjoyed so many other books from TJ Klune so I know it will be good but I'm almost saving it for a day when I really need a good book to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI finally bought Fourth Wing because everyone is obsessed with it, so... one of these days heh. The Stars are on Our Side looks interesting, and I really like the cover! I see it is connected to some of the other books you have loved, so I need to give them a try, I thinK!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these yet, but Wolfsong is on my tbr! Happy reading in 2024!
