This Week's Top Ten Tuesday Topic:
New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2023
I actually read about 15 (or so) new-to-me authors in 2023 so I had several to choose from. Some were good, some didn't work for me, and a couple became new favorites. Here's mix of all of the above. 😀
Brighton Walsh | Sharon Sala | Ali Hazelwood
Q.B. Tyler | J.T. Geissinger | TJ Klune
What author did you discover in 2023?
I adore Abby Jimenez, so I am glad you discovered her. I look forward to her new release every year.
ReplyDeleteSam - Jimenez is one I can see myself trying again at some point. I keep meaning to pick up Yours Truly.
DeleteAbby Jimenez and Ali Hazelwood are two of my favorites. Emily Rath is on my list of authors to try this year. :)
ReplyDeleteSusanne - I found that I didn't click with Hazelwood (very much in the minority there!) but I can see myself trying something else by Jimenez. Emily Rath is one I loved! I've read 2 novels and two novellas by her so far and about to start another one.
DeleteOops! I meant Suzanne... not Susanne. Sorry!
DeleteAhh, Ali Hazelwood was on my list too! I really need to read her novels (I've only read the novellas, so far).
ReplyDeleteMy TTT!
Nicky - I read one by Ali Hazelwood last year and didn't jibe with it. I think Hazelwood is just not for me. But I am definitely in the minority because most seem to adore her books!
DeleteI knew who Jennifer Hartman and J.T, Geissinger were but didn't read any thing from them until last year.
ReplyDeleteAlicia - I'm not sure I'll continue with Geissinger (hers was a little too over the top for me), but Hartmann is a new favorite.
DeleteI’ve heard such good things about Wolfsong.
ReplyDeleteHere is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
Lydia
Lydia - I loved Wolfsong even more than I though I would. :)
DeleteI love Wolfsong! 😍 I still haven't read Jimenez yet but maybe 2024 will finally be my year, lol. I hope you discover lots of awesome new authors this year!
ReplyDeleteDini - I'm so glad I finally read Wolfsong last year! Now to dive into the rest of the series... :)
DeleteWalsh, Hazelwood, Klune, and Jimenez? That's a great list of new authors! I'm glad you loved all of them and the rest of these.
ReplyDeleteDeanna - Well, I wouldn't say I loved them all... LOL But they were all ones I read in 2023. :) Some I probably won't read again, but a couple are new favorites.
DeleteThe only author I have heard of is TJ Klune, though I haven't read any of their books yet.
ReplyDeleteSarah - I'd had Klune's Wolfsong on my TBR for years. When I finally picked it up last year it became an instant favorite!
DeleteYay for TJ Klune and Ali Hazelwood, I love those two! In 2024, I'm hoping to finally read some Abby Jimenez.
ReplyDeleteLindsey - Klune is one that I know I'll be reading more from. I'm totally hooked on the Green Creek series.
DeleteI hope you continue to find new to you authors in 2024 to enjoy!

Thanks Pam!
DeleteI am still so happy that you loved Wolfsong!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sophie! It's one I still think about - almost a year later.
DeleteI really like it when a new author comes along and becomes a fave.
ReplyDeleteGreg - Yes! It's such a great feeling to discover a new favorite.
DeleteTJ Klune is one of my favorite authors!! Jimenez and Hazelwood are ones that I also adore! Great list.
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten!
Leslie - Klune is definitely one that I will read more from!
DeleteI love TJ Klune, my favorite is The House in the Cerulean Sea. I'm glad you discovered him! I'm a little mixed on Hazelwood, I loved The Love Hypothesis but Love on the Brain wasn't for me.
ReplyDeleteThe only one I've read by Hazelwood is Love on the Brain and to be honest it didn't make me want to read anything else by her.
DeleteI'd like to try Emily Rath at some point. Love on the Brain wasn't my favorite from Hazelwood, but I enjoyed two others from her. I hated her new YA, Checkmate, but I'll be reading Bride by her soon since it sounds good to me.
ReplyDeleteRachel - Unfortunately I did not jibe with Hazelwood at all (I limped my way through Love on the Brain LOL). Hopefully you'll love Bride! I think the "why choose" aspects of some of Rath's books mean they won't be for everyone, but I am hooked!
DeleteYay for Abby Jimenez! I've really loved her books. I'm hoping to read Ali Hazelwood this year.
ReplyDeleteAngela - I decided that Hazelwood was not for me (but I'm very much in the minority there) but I can see myself trying something else by Jimenez.
DeleteI'm not much of a romance reader, but Hazelwood's books have tempted me, not gonna lie. Jimenez's too. Maybe I'll check them out at some point.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
Susan - I found that I didn't click with Hazelwood, but Jimenez is one that I can envision trying again.
DeleteHazelwood and Jimenez have become two favorite authors of mine in recent years. :D
ReplyDeleteJimenez and Lune are two that I'd really like to read this year. I've heard great things about them. I've read one book by Hazelwood and while I liked it I'm finding she's not an author I'm wanting to read more from.
ReplyDeleteAlmost anything I read is by a new to me author these days. I choose my next read so randomly now lol
ReplyDeleteThe only author I know from your list is Ali Hazelwood. I definitely need to check out the rest. :D
ReplyDeleteI've read one book by Brighton Walsh that I enjoyed. I need to pick up more! And I need to read Wolfsong. Happy reading in 2024!
ReplyDeleteI have read Ali Hazelwood but all the rest are new to me.
