The Sunday Post #117

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

It was a busy week with work, physical therapy appointments and packing. I'd love to kick back and spend today reading (and napping) but there's still so much packing to do. The Husband made another Home Depot run yesterday for more boxes. And my beautiful library has gone from this to this:

I've seen several people comment on their cooler temps and fall-like weather... and I'm so jealous. It's still hitting 90 degrees here and that's why this watermelon granita is looking so refreshing. And so simple!

WHAT I FINISHED IN THE LAST WEEK:

I finished Everything Under the Sun by Jessica Redmerski and wow, what a read! Yes it was a long one (600+ pages) but I was so invested and was turning pages as fast as I could. This one was anything but dull! I was pretty sure the ending would break me... and it did. And now I desperately need the next book. And it was pretty cool to see Jessica leave a comment on my review! :)

WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING:
This one is so living up to the hype! Thanks to Sam and Lindsi for badgering gently encouraging me to read this one. I love Stella, I adore Michael, and depending on how much packing I get done today I will probably finish this tonight. Loving it!

WHAT I'M CURRENTLY LISTENING TO:
On a Tuesday - Whitney G.
I'm listening to the audio version of this one for an upcoming blog tour. It's my first by Whitney G. and I'm enjoying it so far. I like the "then" and "now" narrative but Charlotte sure is one stubborn lady!

I'm intrigued by this series since it has a military aspect.
I've looked at this one for ages and since it was $0.99 this week...
The cover is so cheesy but I'm trash for Abbi Glines.
I've read three from this series and they're fun light romances.

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!

  1. Ugh, I'm so not looking forward to the packing! We're in the slowly sorting through things stage while we wait for our completion date...
It's all exciting though! I hope you get some chill time later to finish The Kiss Quotient.

    1. Yep, we did a lot of the sorting when we were readying the house for the photographer (before it went on the market). It was the perfect time to start weeding out.

I did finish The Kiss Quotient and it was as wonderful as every said! :)

  3. If it makes you feel better, it will be in the 90s again in NJ this week. Did I mention how much I hate summer? Your library was lovely. I hope the one in your new house is even better. Three cheers for you reading The Kiss Quotient. I am getting chills just thinking about how wonderful that book was, and the ending is rock solid. I bought Brothers ages ago, but still haven't read it. I need to put more romances back in my reading life though. A romance binge is on the horizon. The only Whitney G book I read was Sincerely, Carter and I adored it. I really need to read more of her books.

    1. I’m so over summer, Sam! And it sounds like you are, too. Unfortunately (as I’m sure you remember), summer in FL doesn’t embed when the calendar says it’s fall. Ugh.

Thanks, I love my little library. :) And I can’t wait to get it set up again at the new house.

The Kiss Quotient was so, so good. Michael was precious and Stella was wonderful... I just loved them!

The Whitney G. book was good but felt a little “on the surface” if that makes sense. Maybe because it was so short or maybe that’s just her style, I don’t know. But I’d definitely be willing to read more from her.

You are so right... packing is lame but the unpacking... ugh. I am so not looking forward to that!

Btw, do you have a blog, Julia? I’d love to visit but your Google profile didn’t show anything...

  7. I'm glad I don't have your temps anymore, but if you want to send 10 my way, I'd take them and we'd both feel a bit better...because I'm now covered in a blanket. I LOVE those shelves! They are AMAZING! I have shelf envy! I hope you have a great week :)

    1. Wouldn’t it be great if that were possible?! I’d gladly share. :)

My IKEA bookcases will go with me to the new house but the built-in unit will have to stay since it was custom-made for that space. It breaks my heart because my father made that for me. :(

    1. Still a little over a week until the move and I think I’m already over it. LOL
We’ve asked sooo much and I feel like we’ve barely made a dent in it. Professional packers are sounding pretty good at this point. Haha!

  10. Good luck with packing! Your library looks awesome- love that wrap around effect you had going- but it will be nice to have it all set up in your new place too. :) I hear you though- moving is no fun til it's done lolol.

It's warming up here again too, I walked outside and it was like a wall of humidity. Big change from even yesterday.

Glad The Kiss Quotient is good. It looks fun. :)

Have a super week and stay cool!

  11. Hah love your totally random photo. So true - I'm pretty sure I have bug bites on my the bottom of MY FEET! They itch so much. I had some cooler weather, but it's picking back up to higher temps again so sigh. Sorry it's been really hot for you though! It's almost September!!!

    1. Ugh, itchy bug bites are the worst. See, yet another reason I don’t go outside. LOL

I wish September meant cooler temps but here in FL that’s just not so. We’re in for another month in the 90’s for sure. Ack!

  12. I hope your new place has space for all those books. Your library was so pretty! It was cold at the beginning of the week, but it’s back in the 90s now. I’m reading blogs because it’s too hot to sleep. Enjoy your new books.
