#ShelfLove 2017 Mid-Year Check-In

For the second year in a row, I'm taking part in the #ShelfLove Challenge.
The focus is on reading the books you already own - and I'm all about that!

The discussion topic for the mid-year check-in:
How are you doing with the challenge?
Look back at your January post and share your progress.

I started off the year strong - purposely choosing books that were already on my shelves (or my Kindle). But, somewhere along the way, I became distracted by all the shiny new releases and a few arc's and, well... it's time to get back on track. The goal I set at the beginning of the year was to read between 31-40 books this year that I already owned (before the start of the year). With the year almost half over, I feel like I should be a little further along in this goal. Sooo, time to get focused and get back to reading all the awesome books already on my shelves!

My #ShelfLove Challenge Progress:

If you're taking part in any reading challenges, how's your progress?

  1. If I were apart of this challenge, I'd be failing miserably. Ugh this year is not going well for me, but I might catch up to make some sort of dent in my TBR. Hopefully. I hope the same for you too!

    1. Yikes. Hopefully your goal is on the lower side? I have to *constantly* keep reminding myself to ignore the new stuff and focus on my shelves.

  4. I'm a Dory reader too! :) Look a shiny new release! LOL! I actually read Making Faces because of the same reason. I already owned it. Ok now... get focused and read Making Faces. I want to know how you like it so badly ;-)

    1. LOL @ Dory reader. :) Making Faces was nothing like I was expecting but I loved it anyway. I really need to get on the ball and write that review. (Along with a dozen or so others... )

  5. I'm not doing great with my goals. Oh well. I blame it on the ARCs LOL.

  6. I have been complete trash at reading my own books. When I am not reading review books, I am usually reading a library book. BUT, I will try harder. Good job by you though.

    1. So many distractions! I feel like I did better at this last year. These new releases are definitely turning my head this year.

  7. Ahh this is so great! I feel like I'd be horrible at this because I get distracted so easily by all the new releases haha. <3 But GOOD LUCK, you have such good progress so far!

    1. Thanks Analee! Oh yeah, I've definitely been distracted by the new releases. But I try to keep reminding myself of all the pretties on my shelves that I'm dying to read. :)
