The Sunday Post #61

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

  • It's been a quieter week with less going on. Last week just felt busy start to finish. I enjoyed the slightly slower pace.
  • Eye infection is all cleared up. Hallelujah! The first day I was able to actually wear mascara again I was like, "My precious!" 😉
  • It's been a scorcher of a weekend with temps in the mid-90's. I realize it's only the fifth day of summer but... is it over yet?
  • I am so over being crazy behind on book reviews so I'm making an effort to get caught up over the next few weeks. Fingers crossed that I made some headway!

  1. Etched in Bone is it any good? I haven't read the synopsis, so I have no clue what it's about, but I've heard it is one of the best books of 2016 or 2017. I'm glad to hear your eye is better. I've been wanting to get some new mascara myself :) but maybe a new pair of sunglasses would do. Have a great week!

    1. Funnily enough, I wasn't overly thrilled with the first Kasie West book I read, either (The Distance Between Us). But I absolutely adored P.S. I Like You and I enjoyed By Your Side. I have high hopes for this latest one.

  6. So glad your eyes are better. I stupidly agreed to one of those dept store makeover things yesterday and I swear I used 15 eye makeup remover pads to get all the eyliner and mascara off (I usually use one, two pads max). My eyes were burning and I was worried I'd have some infection, but today I seem fine. Hopefully. Reading must have been hard for you! Hope you love the new books!

    1. OMG, Jen, they must have layered the makeup on with a trowel. I've only done one of those dept store makeovers once and I walked out feeling like a drag queen. LOL

  7. Congrats about clearing up your eye problem! I can't even really wear make up because my eyes get scratchy after just the one day! Ugghh.
Have a great reading week :)

    1. Oh no, that's terrible, Evelina. You must have very sensitive eyes. I'm lost without my mascara. :)

  9. Mascara is my desert island item. I have chronic dry eye and sometimes I cannot wear it, and it is very sad. So, I am happy your eyes are better now. I adored Words in Deep Blue. I hope you like it too. I am reading Lucky in Love at the moment and it's super cute like all KWest books should be. Have an awesome week!

    1. Yes! Same here. I need my mascara, I need some lipstick, and a flat iron would be nice, thankyouverymuch. :) I wasn't as in love with Words in Deep Blue as you were. I'll probably do a short take review since I don't really have a whole lengthy bit to say about it. So glad to hear you're enjoying Lucky in Love!

    1. I used to be so good about reviewing immediately after finishing a book. Now I am hopelessly behind. I really need to get back into the habit.

    1. Ugh, pink eye is so miserable. I was so relieved when this *wasn't* pink eye. Although the medication was just as gunky. LOL
