The Sunday Post #151

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

  • Happy Easter to those who celebrate.
  • I had a time commenting on Blogger blogs all week. On the pc it was fine but trying to comment via iPad or phone was a no-go. I saw Heidi at Rainy Day Ramblings mentioned having the same issue... ever since the latest Apple update. I hadn't connected the two but it makes sense. So, I imagine others will have the same issue commenting here. Commenting on certain blogs might be a challenge now since I'm at the office all day and can't comment from there (our firewalls are no joke). I'll just have to set aside time in the evenings for comments.
  • I hit up my favorite used bookstore Friday night (it's huuuuge!) and while sometimes I leave with nothing, this time I hit the jackpot. I think I ended up with about 12 books. And while I'm not usually the biggest fan of used books (yes, I'm that particular about my books LOL) these were all in almost pristine condition. Score!
  • In exactly one week I'll be sitting poolside, with a stack of books beside me and a fruity drink in hand. I'm counting the days, y'all!
I love this song but when it comes to the video... well, grab your tissues. (I'm not crying, you're crying *wipes away tears*)

WHAT I READ IN THE LAST WEEK:
WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING:

I just finished How To Save a Life last night so I haven't even decided on my next read yet. But I am still listening to Tangled.

PHYSICAL BOOKS:

My Book Depository order arrived and I'm so happy to have this one in my hands. I'm sure it's going to be emotional but I'm excited to read it.

And then there's my book haul from Friday night's jaunt to the used book store. Big score!

99 Days-Katie Cotugno | I Want It That Way-Ann Aguirre | As Long As You Love Me-Ann Aguirre | Run Away With Me-Mila Gray | Stay With Me-Mila Gray | Rome-Jay Crownover | Jet-Jay Crownover | The Wedding Date-Jasmine Guillory | The Proposal-Jasmine Guillory | Hard As It Gets-Laura Kaye | Hard To Come By-Laura Kaye | Hard As You Can-Laura Kaye | Hard To Let Go-Laura Kaye

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!

  1. Why must dogs always meet this fate! *sob*. I read almost every book you hauled, with the exception of the Aguirre books (which have me singing 90s boy band songs, thank you). They were all good. I hope you enjoy them all on your vacay.

    1. I actually thought of you the first time I saw the video, Sam. I found it so bittersweet - the way her father provided that same kind of friend/companionship to her daughter as he did for her all those years ago. So sweet. I really enjoyed that Ann Aguirre trilogy and was happy to find the physical copies.

    1. This is our annual R&R trip down to our favorite resort in Orlando. It's close (we're about a 2.5 hour drive from Orlando) and we love the resort. Day after day of poolside reading... heaven! Plus we combine the trip with our anniversary so that always makes it more special. :)

  3. Yay for your upcoming vacation! I hope you have a wonderful time and that of course you gets tons of reading done. :)

That's a pretty impressive used bookstore haul too. Lots of good reads in there.

    1. I warned everyone to have the tissues ready! LOL I just loved the way her father provided that same kind of friend/companionship to her daughter as he did for her all those years ago. So sweet. I know, I very rarely ever do book hauls like that! It's usually just 1 or 2 here and there. But I certainly have plenty to read by the pool!

  6. Interesting, today I can comment! Yeah! I could comment one day last week on my computer and the next I couldn’t even do that. Hopefully the issue is fixed, it was so frustrating! Wow! You will have plenty to read for awhile. Hope you have a lovely vacation!

    1. Someone else mentioned clearing the browser cache on my ipad and that worked briefly. *sigh* So annoying. Makes me wonder if I'll be able to do any commenting at all while I'm on vacation.

  7. I hadn't noticed a commenting issue but I will certainly see if there are issues next time I go on my tablet. I'm jealous that you have an awesome used bookstore to shop at, I don't really have that. And I refuse to watch the video if it requires tissues, I cry at everything and I am not ready for that this evening.

    1. I actually don't go to the used Bookstore often (because I'm obnoxiously picky about my books LOL) but it really is an awesome store. Good thing you skipped the video!!

    1. Yep, we do a getaway every year for our anniversary. It's a week of R&R and I am so ready. I saw Steve Perry many years ago... would have loved to have seen the whole band, though!

  11. What a great haul! I found clearing my chance on my IPad fixed the issues with commenting, it might be worth a try for you.

Have a great reading week, and vacation

  12. Oooh, are you going somewhere nice on holiday?
I used to love used bookstores but since becoming hardcore addicted to my kindle I just don't bother. :/
12 books in awesome condition is definitely a great score!
I love the Bastille singers voice... I can listen to him sing all day.

    1. We're heading down to Orlando for our yearly R&R trip. Nothing but relaxing by the pool, reading, cooling off in the pool, sipping on fruity drinks... plus it's our anniversary so that makes it even better. :)

Same here, Nicci! I love his voice!

    1. It'd be a lot easier if I could do all my commenting on the pc but that's just not always feasible. Hopefully it fixes itself soon.

  17. I've been able to comment these past few days. I wonder what happened. And being by the pool and in the pool is always awesome! I hope you enjoy!

    1. It's weird how some are affected and some aren't. Oh well, I'm finding some work-arounds so it's good. :) And I'm so ready for some poolside reading! :)

  18. Yeah, I can't comment on blogs on Blogger when I'm at work either. My phone just won't do it. I type in the comment and post, and then it just won't post, so I've stopped frustrating myself and just comment at night.

Oh, love to read by the pool with a cool drink! Enjoy! :)

  21. Yay for an upcoming vacation! I updated my Mac and I've had a ton of problems lately. I haven't tried blog hopping from my iPad but I'll try and see if I had the same problems. Oh, 99 days is MESSY but like a good Messy. I love messy so I enjoyed it. (oh, I finished that Peter Pan NA retelling! I'm working on my review!)

    1. I swaer, I get to where I dread updates. They seem to cause more problems than they fix. Gah!

I loved 99 Days when I read it several years ago. I know a lot of people have issues with Cotugno's books but I love the fact that it shows real people making bad decisions and dealing with the consequences. That's real life! People screw up. I plan on reading 9 Days & 9 Nights soon and want to reread 99 Days so I was thrilled so find such a pristine copy. :)

Can't wait to read your review!

  22. YES, when Journey comes on - I sing along!
12 books! That was a great haul. I love book shopping and try to go with my daughter as she loves it even more than me. She is able to read more right now than me and I am jealous. Happy Easter a ton late! =)
