It's a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books,
and share what's coming up on your blog in the week ahead.
THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Heading back to the office after a long break (I was on PTO since December 23) was tough! By Thursday I was so exhausted I went to bed at 7 pm. lol I was beyond relieved when Friday rolled around. And that was only a four day work week. Ha!
I recently saw a blogger friend (maybe Deanna?) share that Las Vegas Public Library cards were open to anyone. Color me happy to have another avenue for digital content! I signed up that same day and have already put my access to use. I'm so thankful for libraries.
The Husband and I purchased tickets for a Tampa Bay Lightning game in March and I'm already counting the days. We lucked out and got seats in the same section as the game we attended last year (center ice, right behind the player's bench) so it's sure to be a great experience.
The blast of winter weather we had at Christmas was short-lived and it was in the 70's all this week. That may sound idyllic to anyone dealing with snow and ice right now, but I'm wishing hard for some more winter weather.
This week's 80's music fix is Don't Dream It's Over (1986) by Crowded House. Enjoy!

HOW WAS YOUR WEEK?
You must have been so pleased to get these tickets Tanya! Also maybe one of these days I'll aska card to Las Vegas Public Library LOL For the moment, I am on Audible for audiobook and just opened an account on Scribd.
ReplyDeleteSophie - I love my Audible subscription, but having access to free ebooks and audiobooks is even better. :)
DeleteAw man, I loved Crowded House so much back in the day. Great song!!
ReplyDeleteCrowded House had so many good songs! I also loved Something So Strong.
DeleteI loved that Jimenez book (I say that about them all). I hope it's good for you. This will be my first full week of work since I think October. HA! But I have MLK day off. Something to look forward to. It's one month before my return to office too (pending my recovery). EEK! How fun that you got some hockey tickets. I hope your team knows you are there and post a win. I share your love of eLibrary access (I have three right now)
ReplyDeleteSam - I'm enjoying the Jimenez books. The humor is so spot-on. :) Hope we both make it through a full week or work! We only have to get thru one and then we have another long weekend. Whew! I'm loving all the access now available to online libraries!
DeleteBlaze of Memory is one of my favorites! I think it's time for a reread!! This week back to the routine of work was rough for me too.
ReplyDeleteSamantha - I'm so glad you said that! I skimmed a few reviews before I started Blaze of Memory and a few mentioned it being their least favorite because they didn't like Dev at all. So I was nervous going in but I'm totally enjoying Dev and Katya's story!
DeleteI love that crowded house song! And thanks for the info on the Las Vegas library, I'm going to check that out. Have a great week, Tanya!
ReplyDeleteWendy - I was so happy to learn about the Las Vegas library option. Another avenue for books is always appreciated. :)
DeleteLove the meme at the end! If only I could skip out on all the things that require fake smiling, lol. You got some good books to read this week! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLisa Loves Literature
Lisa - Right? I'm not social anyway, but having to be somewhere and fake it? Torture. I'd rather be home. :)
DeleteI love this Crowded House song!
ReplyDeleteI really need to read an Abby Jimenez book.
Alicia - Part of Your World is my first by Jimenez and I'm really enjoying it.
DeleteOooh thanks for the tip on the library card, just signed up too! Love libraries!
ReplyDeleteI also struggled hard this week - I enjoyed being off a bit too much I guess lol. HOpe you have a great week ahead !
Berls - Hopefully this full week back at work will be kind to both of us! :)
DeleteYeah, I had to work 3 days last week and I didn't want to. At least it was an easy week. I am not looking forward to going 5 days this coming week. Yay for getting tickets to the hockey game. My husband has been able to go see the Blues recently but I haven't been for years. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteCarole - Hopefully this full week back at work hasn't been too hard.
DeleteFunnily enough, the Blues are the team that started my love of hockey. :) I started following them (very randomly) back in 2019 and watched all through the playoffs when they won the Cup. Pat Maroon is now with the Lightning and is my favorite player. :)
I felt the same way about going back to work, plus having two people immediately out sick made it extra draining. That's so cool about the Las Vegas library. I'll have to check that out!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne - Returning to work with people out sick sounds like a double whammy. Hope this week is better!
DeleteWe should trade weather. It's 31 here now. I could use a little sun. Yay for Lightning tickets! Hope you had a wonderful New Year! :)
ReplyDeleteGreg - 31 degrees? Yeah, I don't know about trading... that might be a bit much for me. :)
DeleteYes, it is a shock going back to a regular schedule after having time off. Not fun. Hope you get some rest! I think we had similar weather when I lived in Southern California so I totally get yearning for cooler, more wintery temps. It's cold here now but I'm enjoying that we have a change with every season in Northern California. Exciting to look forward to an in person game!
ReplyDeleteRachel - Color me jealous of your actual seasons. :) I suffer through FL summers... I deserve a few wintry days. LOL
DeleteI'm glad you had a great holiday break. Thanks for sharing the info about the Las Vegas library. I think we will have some more cooler weather yet.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Anne - I'm hopeful for some more winter weather. It's been almost nonexistent here other than those few days at Christmas.
DeleteUgh, going back to work after a long break is the worst! I just finished Part of Your World and LOVED it!
ReplyDeleteAngela - I'm halfway through Part of Your World and enjoying it so much. Alexis's ex and her parents are the worst!
DeleteThe return to work was a struggle here too haha. Lucky for me, we've got a cruise booked next week! Also, yay for free library cards. I get so many books from the various libraries I frequent. The Harris County libraries in Houston offer free digital cards too!
ReplyDeleteEthan - Color me jealous of your upcoming cruise! It's been at least 15 years since I went on one. Thanks for the tip about Harris County digital cards!
DeleteGlad the library card worked out! I love having more options to borrow!
ReplyDeleteDeanna - Yes! I was able to find one at the LV library that my library no longer had available. Score!
DeleteIt was a long week last week and I was doing it from home so I can't imagine the exhaustion after going into the office. I'm aiming for 3 days in the office this week so hopefully it's not too killer. How awesome the library is open to all to register! I love that it makes books more accesible for people especially if they live somewhere without a good library system. Love that Crowded House Song, honestly such a tune.
ReplyDeleteBecky - Hope the 3 days in the office this week goes well! It's such an adjustment, isn't it? Crowded House weren't all that big over here but they still had a couple songs that I really loved.
Deleteoh wow really? What is the catalog like for the Las Vegas one? I know Florida has some good ones. My Brooklyn one will be expiring this summer so I gotta find some others to compensate haha
ReplyDeleteRenee - I haven't really had a chance to explore the catalog for the Las Vegas library. But they had the first book I was looking for and I waited less than a week for it, so I'm off to a good start. :)
DeleteI have Wait For It on my tbr for this year, so I'm happy to see you enjoyed it! And thanks for the library tip! I saw Deanna share that and then forgot to check it out. 😃
ReplyDeleteDeanna - I hope you'll love Wait For It!
DeleteLol, I think Las Vegas Library is about to get a significant uptick in patronage!
ReplyDeleteGreat music choice!
Wishing you a great reading week
Shelleyrae - Ha! I can definitely see that happening. Maybe I should warn them. ;-)
DeleteThe Brooklyn Library is open to all too. I think there's a $50 charge though.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! & * fist bump* to my fellow 7pm bedtime person lol We did that one night last week too.
Karen @For What It's Worth
Karen - I've heard good things about the Brooklyn library catalog but I'm all about free. lol
DeleteAnother early to bed person! We are a rare breed. :)
That's cool that you were able to get such good seats seats at the Tampa Bay Lightning game game in March. That sounds like fun. I am not much of a sports fan per say, but I do enjoy going to sporting events in-person. I'm working on finding coverage for my shift at work in March so I can take spring break off with my daughter. I've got all but one day covered. If I end up having to work that one day, so be it, but I hope I won't have to. I hope you get your wish and the winter weather comes your way again! It's been pouring rain here. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your reading!
ReplyDeleteWendy - I'm not really a huge sports fan, either, but I do make an exception for the Tampa Lightning. :) In-person sporting events are so much fun. I hope you can get that last day covered so you'll have the whole week off with your daughter!
