The Sunday Post #10

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

This past week has been fun since I've been taking part in a (re-read) readalong of the Addicted series by Krista and Becca Ritchie. It's my favorite contemporary series ever and I'm loving going back to the beginning and reliving it all over again. As someone who *never* re-reads, this was quite a commitment for me. I feel like I deserve an extra gold star or something. :) The readalong is being hosted by my wonderful friend Sarah at Words With Sarah and Gen at Latte Night Reviews. The readalong runs through April 22 and leads up to the release of Some Kind of Perfect, the final book in the series (*sob!*). I'm not ready for it to be over! But in the meantime I'm revisiting old friends and loving every minute of it - while continuing to be in shock that I'm managing to keep up with the reading schedule. LOL

New commenting system
Since switching over my comment system a week ago I have to say I'm loving it! No more emails from Google+ with a snippet of a new comment only to go to the blog and find that it's missing, hidden or deleted. Good riddance Google! *sings "na na na na, hey, hey, goodbye" loudly*

Tuesday, March 22: Top Ten Tuesday: Can You Feel the Love - Where I talked about the books that I adore but for some reason I rarely mention them. Love all the discussion this generated in the comments about the hidden gems we love!

Thursday, March 24: Throwback Thursday Review: Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout - Seems like a lot of people forgot about this one! All I can say is: pick it up, you won't be sorry. Tink totally steals the show. And it's JLA. What more do you need?

Saturday, March 26: Blog Tour + Review: Walk the Edge by Katie McGarry - 1. I adore Katie McGarry. 2. This series is fabulous. 3. I want more.

PHYSICAL COPIES:

Based on everything I've been seeing about this one I knew I had to have it. I'm a sucker for any story that's going to batter and bruise my fragile little heart. Bring on the tears...

KINDLE:

The Air He Breathes - Brittainy Cherry: Even though I own a physical copy, I couldn't pass it up when it went on salt for 99 cents.
Eversea and Forever, Jack - Natasha Boyd: I keep seeing this around so I finally bought them.
Bound By Honor - Cora Reilly: My friend Kei at The Lovely Pages gave this one a glowing review so I nabbed it immediately.
Neverland - Shari Arnold: A friend of mine passed my name on to the author who in turn sent me her book for review. My friend positively raved about this retelling so I'm excited for it.

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
Fill me in on what your week was like... I'd love to hear!

  1. OMG are you emotionally ready for A Thousand Boy kisses? Grab some tissues! Enjoy Bound by Honor too, the 2nd book in the series is officially my favorite though ♥

    1. I know! I feel like I should take some Valium before picking up the book - just so I don't have an absolute crying fit. LOL And you mean the second Bound By Honor book is even better than the first one you reviewed?? Wow, that's saying a lot! I'm super excited about it!

  2. Some Kind of Perfect is like the end of an era. But I'm so excited! I'm hoping to re-read all the books sometime in the middle of April. But this is a great readalong.
I kind of want to buy A Thousand Boy Kisses too. I've been seeing all the sobbing over it and I needs it for my emotions too.

    1. It totally will be, Brittany. I can't believe we're going to have to say goodbye to the Addicted characters. My heart will break!
We definitely need to read A Thousand Boy Kisses. Who doesn't need a good sob fest?

    1. Oh yeah, definitely go with Stone Cold Touch first. I mean, Wicked is fun and all but sorry Ren, you can't hold a candle to Roth. :)

  4. Lol that pic! First off, if it's your favorite contemporary ever I have to read these, I mean I kind of owe it to you and myself! Lol.

I also grabbed The Air He Breathes, so we'll see how that goes. I'm excited to see what you think of A Thousand Boy Kisses.

    1. Oh yeah, Jazmen, the Addicted series. It is the best. Krista and Becca are such good writers, the characters are so completely realistic and fleshed out... I feel such a connection with these people. And I swear I feel like I could go to Philadelphia and run into them somewhere. LOL

I just learned today that The Air He Breathes is the first in a series. Don't know yet if it's a regular series or just a companion book/in the same world so I need to find out for sure. But I read the synopsis of the second book and it sounds awesome. I'm sure I'll be reading A Thousand Boy Kisses soon... I'm dying for it.

    1. Oh I'm so glad to hear some feedback on the Eversea books! The GoodReads reviews are good but it's always better to hear it from someone I know and trust their opinion. :)
And isn't that little owl a cutie? She actually has legs that swing (she's made to sit on the edge of a shelf) but I tucked them under for the photo. I found her at a Cracker Barrel. LOL

    1. That Easter cartoon never fails to make me laugh. :) Oh, the Addicted series... it's one of those that when I come across someone who doesn't love it with the same passion I have for it, I wonder what's wrong with them. (*sadly not joking*) Do you have books/series like that? I feel like I just *know* these people and I want to go to Philly and hang and with them. We've been thru so much together. :)

  8. I loved Wicked! So excited for the sequel! Looks like you got some great books this week as well! I need to try a Katie McGarry book, I think she's at the book convention I'm going to in September. Have a great week!

    1. Wasn't Wicked fun?! :) I hope Torn releases soon... it's been too long. Oh how I love Katie McGarry. I got to see her at ApollyCon last month and it was my first time meeting her (I feel like she doesn't do as many appearances as some others). She was so kind and so completely genuine. I hope you'll enjoy her writing if/when you get around to trying her out!

  9. Isn't re-reading fun?!? I'm not one to re-read either, Tanya, but giving myself permission to re-read the Rock Chick series has been such a boon! I'm glad you gave yourself permission and are having fun! Great haul of books...I want A Thousand Boys Kisses myself. Ooh, and I have Natasha Boyd's books...you know, gathering virtual dust. ;) I hope you're having a great week!!

    1. Thanks Brandee. In the past I've always refused to reread. I could never get past the thought of "there are so many books I want to read, I can't waste time reading stuff I've already read!" But I'm glad I set that aside long enough to do this Addicted series reread because I love it so much. :)
