The Sunday Post #64

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

  • Did anyone nab any awesome deals on Amazon's Prime Day? I didn't necessarily get any major deals, but that didn't stop me from shopping. :)
  • I got about 3 inches chopped off my hair yesterday and it feels sooo much better. Don't you love how a haircut can make you feel totally refreshed and like a new person? It's not just me, right?
  • I'm so over the heat. I know it's hard to complain when places like Arizona were recently seeing temps of 110+ degrees, but I also doubt they have the humidity we have here. Summer really is my least favorite season. Ignore me while I swelter and whine. 😉

  2. hahaha that's right, I am a pink starburst ;)

You are so right about the hair cut- the smallest change makes me feel brand new and fresh.

I got a ton of stuff on Prime Day - but I'm a teacher and I felt like a lot of the deals were geared toward us. There was just one item on my need to buy list that wasn't on sale (the most expensive too, of course). I haven't bought it yet, still holding out hope!

    Have a great week!

    1. You are the *pinkest* of all Starbursts. :)
Kudos on all the Prime deals! Interesting that they seemed to be geared to teachers. But that's a good thing! Hope you still manage to snag a deal on that last item, Berls!

  3. I am not a fan of summer weather either. I hate sweating. I got a nice grill for fairly cheap on prime day so I feel good about that!

    1. That's awesome about the deal on the grill! After all those extra expenses lately you were owed a good deal! :)

  4. Did you end up liking Royally Screwed??

    1. Loved Royally Screwed, Ashley! It was much more than I expected. I figured nothing more than light and fluffy and funny. Confession time: I was brought to tears at one scene near the end! I can't wait to read more from Chase.

  5. Do you know, I once posted that yellow Starburst thing. I thought it was hilarious, but I actually had someone who didn't get it. It's hot, I so over summer, but it sort of just started.

    1. I hate when that happens. It's like, can't you see how hilarious this is? LOL
I know, I know... there's a whole lot of summer left to endure. Whaaa!

  6. I hope you're enjoying Us. I really loved both of those. I don't have Prime, so no shopping for me.

Love the starburst quote. SO true. The pink are the best.

    1. Ugh, I feel you on the crazy heat. No fun. And, depending on where you are, sometimes the rain just makes it worse. Just makes it more steamy instead of cooling it off. Hope you have a great week, Laura!

  8. At first, I didn't get the Starburst reference. But now that I understand that many people like the pink starburst (which is my most favorite starburst), I get the reference now!

  9. Yay for Prime shopping!! I didn't buy anything cos I'm broke, but I wish I had :(

Ugh the heat is AWFUL. I absolutely hate summer and the sun - winter's my favourite season :)
Hope it cools down soon and that you have a lovely week of reading!

  10. I'm usually tired of summer by August or so also, especially if it's humid. We've been pretty lucky this year so far, but yeah the humidity is no fun. And I didn't order anything on Prime Day, although I decided I wanted a Paperwhite so I ordered it the enxt day lol.

    1. I'm on my second Kindle and have had Fire tablets both times. I've yet to try the Paperwhite even though I hear great things. I'm tempted to get one just for when I travel and and more likely to be reading outdoors and in sunlight.

  11. Ooo summer haircuts! I'm sure your neck thanks you! It's currently 75 degrees in Chicago so I'm mildly worried about the end of times

Also I completely forgot about Prime Day!

    1. 75 degrees? What magic is that? LOL And can you send it my way? It's roughly 20 degrees hotter down here. Ugh.

  14. I live in the South and it is SO hot here, too. Is it hotter everywhere in the US this year? Maybe we're having an insane heat wave. It's been miserable here. The "Real Feel" temperature has been up to 103 with humidity almost every day for a few weeks. Ugh.

Also, the yellow Starburst meme cracked me up. :D

    1. Yep, I'm in the South, too, so I get it. Ugh! At least yesterday the storms that came through cooled it off. The temp dropped about 15 degrees! It was awesome. :)
