Here's what happened in February:
- I had a guest post at Beware of the Reader sharing my Top 5 Romantic Songs. And I was featured at JennRenneRead.
- I had a four day weekend mid-month and it was fabulous.
- I went to a showing of Star Wars with the score performed by an orchestra. Lots of fun.
- I won two giveaways. One for an ebook of my choice and another for a physical copy of What the Wind Knows which I'm super excited to receive.
I read/listened to seven books in February which is down from the eleven I read in January. But February is shorter so I'm blaming it on that. Let's go with it, shall we? All three of my audio books were re-listens which was fun. I completed the Marked Men series (again) and have finally moved on to the spin-off series Saints of Denver. But more on that in next month's wrap-up. :)

WHAT HAPPENED ON THE BLOG
I had 18 blog posts in January which I'm totally happy with. But that only included 4 book reviews which I'm not so happy with. My goal in March? Step up my review game. Books reviewed in February were: The Air He Breathes, On Thin Ice, Leah on the Offbeat, and Wild Country.
WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING
I'm 100 pages into ACOFAS and hope to finish it this weekend. I love being back in this world and around this tight-knit group of friends/family. I'm about 60% into the audio version of Watching You and I can hardly stop listening. This is a slower, quieter mystery. There aren't shocking events happening every chapter. Instead there's a growing sense of unease, of there bring more than meets the eye, and that something big is going to happen when it all comes to a head.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE READ IN FEBRUARY?
This is a fabulous monthly wrap up. To the point and hits all of your highs and lows. Me likey. Also looks like you had a great month in books and on the blog. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteLOL Thanks Rowena! :)
DeleteI feel like I read a lot in February - though I did read a lot of graphic novels. I need to up my review game too. I'm a bit behind on blog stuff in general. haha

You and me both, Lauren! Hopefully we can both get caught up soon.
DeleteMy fav Feb read was probably The Son of Neptune. :)
ReplyDeleteI know you love Rick Riordan, Nicci! :)
DeleteMy question: has Emma Scott ever written a book that doesn't bring one to tears? If she has, I have yet to read it, because all her books have left me crying at some point.
ReplyDeleteLOL Doubtful! She seems to excel at ripping our hearts out and stomping on them. :)
DeleteI want to read On Thin Ice and the series, and I want to try The Air He Breaths. I'm on hold for the audio of Watching You so glad to hear you're enjoying it. February was a short month, right? :)
ReplyDeleteThe Juniper Falls series (with On Thin Ice) is just a great YA contemporary series. I hope you'll find time for it soon, Rachel. And Watching You was great!
DeleteI had the move to plan so February was awful for me. I maybe read 2 books? And March has been 0 so far since I'm on the road right now.
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
Yep, your reading has definitely been hijacked by packing and moving and road-tripping... maybe next month will get back to normal!
DeleteCongrats on the giveaways! And ooh I didn't see those posts that you were featured in- will have to go check em out. Watching You- I haven't read that one yet but hopefully soon- I like how it sounds like a slow build- I'm pretty excited about that one!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get around to Watching You soon, Greg. I know you'll probably be reading it but the audio version was excellent!
DeleteOh my gosh!! The Star Wars showing with the orchestra sounds amazing!!
ReplyDeleteIt was such a fun experience!
DeleteGood luck with posting more reviews! I also need to do that because I’m very far behind with them. I hope you’re having a good March!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I'm so far behind that I feel like I'm going to have to re-read a couple books before I can write reviews. LOL
DeleteI have all of Julie Cross's books in that series, I definitley want to get to them sooner!
ReplyDeleteDeanna Reads Books
I hope you'll enjoy them, Deanna! I've loved all three books in the Juniper Falls series.
DeleteThe Star Wars orchestra sounds really awesome! I've always wanted to go to a Lord of the Rings one! Congrats on your giveaway wins!
ReplyDeleteI've never actually seen any of the LOtR movies (I know, I know!) but I bet they would work great with the orchestra accompaniment.
DeleteI'm curious what you'll think of ACOFAS!
ReplyDeleteI really loved ACOFAS! I know there have been a lot of reviews saying nothing happened and it was unnecessary, but I was so happy to revisit with the characters that I love. And I thought it was a great set-up for the next book.
DeleteREALLY glad to hear you liked Watching You and it was an unexpected ending. Very cool. I have it on audio and can't wait for break to listen to it! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteMary
I hope you'll enjoy it, too, Mary! I really go for Jewell's brand of mysteries!
